Can't imagine how chaotic it'll be to get all of the new "staff" up to speed, especially considering the whole Administration hasn't a clue as to what the hell they should even do other than "fight". Yeah, that ground "invasion" is probably precisely what they wanted, but they likely had far too many commanders saying "NO". We all know it's going to be nothing but a grind fest. The world's reaction to this is going to be unlike anything we've witnessed or ever thought we'd witness in our lifetimes.

The other obvious reason to purge your officer core is you think you might need officers who's loyalty is guaranteed if you intend to do something about an upcoming election you're confident will go badly for you.
