If you are here asking: "Is this a science meme?"

Probably, yes. We use the Dawkins definition of meme: a replicating idea, not just an image macro with a fact on it. A good post here doesn't need to teach you something. It needs to make you ask something: who, what, where, when, and especially why or how.

Science isn't a filing cabinet of facts, it's a conversation. For example, a photo of an eel or other localized wildlife counts because most people never see one, and wonder is the first step of inquiry. A car meme counts if it makes you curious about what's under the bonnet. If you want to talk about something you noticed in the world, chances are someone else wants to talk about it too.

We moderate for vibe, not category. Pruning is light, especially where a post creates interesting discussion. Experimenting is encouraged, but keep it in good faith and never punch down.

I don't trust any information about this subject, even my own info. It's all very prone to misinformation, propaganda, and general manipulation.

But of all sources you'd suggest, Wikipedia?

You gotta be shitting me. My sources are between the GAO (Government Accountability Office) and a hefty data dump of early years of Wikileaks.

Anyways, yeah I have plenty enough reason to not trust currently available information, it's all probably been cherry picked and edited to hell and back for the modern narrative.

I have much more original information.

I just got done saying that I don't trust any info on this subject, even the huge archive I inherited from my late father.

But I'm more inclined to trust the data from my late father, before many documents conveniently got edited, blacked out or just became missing.

Anyways, I don't care what anyone thinks or can or cannot prove about Hussein, it's perfectly normal to hide in a hole in the ground if you've done nothing wrong...

Oh wait..

I'm not trusting any external source here. I grew up under the Bush presidency and simply remember the whole fiasco.

Bush and friends invented the link to justify their prior war plans, when pushed to prove there was a connection, Bush failed to produce evidence.

You're implying Bush (or … someone?) had the evidence that would have vindicated him, but rather than share it, deliberately buried it and successfully hid it from the whole world?
