Tonight I finally finished binding off my sweater. I still have about 25 ends to weave in and then give it a good soak and block, but I’m planning to wear it to work sometime next week once it’s dry.

Only the 2nd sweater I’ve ever knit and I’m extremely happy with how it came out. Already planning my next sweater project - a cardigan this time.

Pattern: Sunanami pullover

Yarn: Knit Picks Capretta superwash in color eclipse heather

I got my sleeves done Tuesday night, ahead of plan! I bound off a little short expecting them to grow when I block the sweater. Now I’m debating how I want to tackle the hem ribbing because I don’t want it to pull in and I want the ribbing to be neat:

  • Option 1: Use the same needle size as the body (US 4) and knit the ribbing inside out or half twisted rib (k1tbl, p1)
  • Option 2: Go down to US 3 needles (same as I used for the sleeve cuffs) and block aggressively
  • Option 3: Using the cuffs, find my ribbing gauge on size 3 needles. Then calculate how many stitches I need to increase to get the ribbing section to be as wide as the rest of the body

I’m leaning toward either option 2 or 3

I’d be done with my sleeves this weekend like I wanted except I got into a really good knitting rhythm and made the sleeves about 2 inches too long. The stitch marker shows where I should’ve switched to ribbing for the cuff, and where I had to rip back to.

Thankfully I was able to put in an afterthought lifeline (my first through any lace, which the sleeves have running down the side) and unravel the extra without incident. I’ve now begun the cuffs and I’m hoping to finish both sleeves by this Friday.

My socks are coming along:

They’re my easier project atm, so I have something I can take with me and knit on the go. First time I’ve added a ribbing section for the arch of my foot.

I’ve made a little more progress on my sweater, hoping to have the sleeves finished by next weekend (not the one in 2 days).

Still chugging along on the sleeves of my sweater. I’m doing full-length sleeves instead of the pattern’s 3/4. During the week I usually only get 2-3 rounds done each night, so I’m hoping to have the sweater done by the end of the month.

What's on my needles (midwest.social)

A couple things I’m currently working on:

IMG_0964.jpg Pattern: Sunanami pullover Finished the collar, now working on the sleeves. The bottom ribbing still needs to be done too, but I want the sleeves done first so I can see if I need to do any short rows in the bottom hem.

07B437D9_0D9B_45E2_A0C5_C4AA74C1DB6C.jpg Pattern: Delectable collectible socks My first surprise sock along. It’s been put aside as I try to finish my sweater, as I only have the brain power for one challenging project at a time.

2 of these have been on the needles for 6+ months, so I’m hoping posting my in-progress projects more often will help me stay on track and get these finished.

I followed the "Lukash the Frog" pattern, with various yarns.

It was supposed to be a gift for my partner for our one year anniversary but I found the magic loop so tedious with such tiny diameters that it took me 6 agonizing months to finish them because I wasn't very enthusiastic about knitting them.

I do absolutely love the finished object though, and so does my boyfriend!

I knitted socks for my Barbies with the MTM body. They fit both standard and curvy bodies. I used 0.7 mm circular needles (magic loop).

Short pattern:

Cast on 20 stitches using an elastic cast-on.

Work 7 rows of 2×2 rib.

Knit 2 rows.

Decrease 2 stitches on the first needle (heel side).

Knit 4 rows.

Decrease 2 stitches on the second needle (front of the sock).

Knit 5 rows.

German short-row heel: 3–2–3 (work 2 smoothing rows in the round in the middle of the heel).

Knit 2 rows to finish working all short-row stitches.

Foot: knit 12 rows.

Toe: Decrease 4 stitches (2 on each needle).

Knit 3 rows.

Decrease 4 stitches (2 on each needle).

Finish with Kitchener stitch.

This is my second ever finished project! I learned how to knit in December and I've been obsessed. I planned out the overall idea for this handbag and then improvised once I got started. I'm absolutely thrilled with the result. Right now I'm debating on whether to give this to my wife or keep it for myself even though I don't think I'll use it often. Yarn is James C Brett Marble, knitted on 4.5 mm needles

I had to frog bc I didn't met my own gauge and did not soak it. So the finished sleeves doesn't fit after soaking.

It was difficult to control which color was visible on the knit/purl side, but I think it came out ok. 100% super wash merino

Way too big but a good test for different knits.

The cuff is 1x1 ribbing with acrylic yarn and the main body is e wrapped with chenille as I wanted it to be light and breathable but still fluffy. The end of the glove is ended off with two rows of purls to try to look less like it was incomplete and more like a style, but that didn't really work haha.

I am also not a fan of the thumb hole but it works.

Hello @knitting@lemmy.world @knitting@a.gup.pe !!!

I have a pattern interpretation question and would really appreciate your help.

This is a link to the pattern:
https://rosarios4.com/en/montra/bulky-light-and-etnic-sweater/

There is a pdf download a little way down the page.

The instructions are minimal, lacking details for shaping armholes and sleeves in particular. I'm not experienced enough to work out these details for myself. Can anyone advise if this pattern is redeemable?

Being modeled by my dog:

It was surprisingly easy to do the stripe, I was expecting everything to fall apart! The real challenge was keeping the end from unraveling when I was done, but I managed... barely.

I own a Toyota knitting machine KS 901 and I recently found the matching ribber KR 501. The ribber is a bit in a rough shape but it's fixable. But when I tried to connect the two I realize that the ribber clamps that came with it are the wrong type and they don't fit right.

I've been looking everywhere for replacement clamps but I find very few. On eBay they're usually in the UK and they won't ship to me (I live in Belgium). Or I find generic clamps but I don't know if they'll fit my ribber.

12247 (An image I found online of the ribber clamps I need)

Is there another place online where to find those? Or does anyone have the measurements for these particular clamps so that I can see if any of the generic ones match?

Some hand warmes with an owl cable stitch I finished recently. I didn't have much of a pattern, so I hope this post is still allowed.

Basically, I went off this picture for the owl/kable knit pattern and used some pattern for gloves to get the thumbs right.

I was thinking about maybe adding french knot stitches as eyes to make the owls more prominent, but I think I like the plain version better.
