My first attempt at a serious charcoal drawing. I'd tried my hand at the medium on and off before, then put it aside for a while, but always experimented with basic forms. I'm happy with this attempt; it was especially relaxing πŸ˜ƒ. Perhaps someone knows of a good, beginner-friendly book for self-study. I'm not a professional artist, which means I'm looking for something accessible yet sophisticated πŸ˜….

That's interesting. I don't know much yet about working with charcoal properly to achieve some reasonable outcomes. Everytime I tried it out...you know...some basic shapes like spheres or cubes to play around with charcoal...smudging here and there...it doesn't come out so well. Hmm, but I think everyone began somehow like that, isn't it...πŸ˜‰.

The black ink the eyes: Is this your fingerprint?

All in all it looks like a foto negative. Nice work!

Thank you! I doodled it during an online meeting with the team and added the shading later that evening. It's strange how many pieces that you consider successful just happen "by accident." Perhaps precisely because you're not straining to make them good.

Thank you! It is not a clothes line on purpose. I doddled it during a online meeting with the team. Perhaps it is s little sprinkle of wasteland feeling? πŸ˜‰. But the most important: It makes you "to imagine" and spin up your own little story about it. This reminds me on the children's story "Frederick". Perhaps you know it too 😊.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. The sketch itself was created as a doodle during an online team meeting πŸ˜…. Later that evening at home, I added the shading.

The style of the song strongly reminds me of the band Tool, but wasn't "White Pony" also the album on which both bands collaborated? I listened to the song again, and sure enough, that's the voice of the Tool singer.

Indeed, I hadn't even thought of that! How fitting. Perhaps I subconsciously had a thought of the saga. πŸ˜†
