Damn, I laughed at first because I misread the sub name as theonion... Stupid me.
As your doctor I have to tell you, you are HIV-Trump.
Exactly. Same questions as last time. Same responses as last time. Don't expect any different actions than last time.
They should. But we all know what would happen next.
Noooobody cares where the model comes from once it's already trained and being run in a sandbox.
Not quite. There is immense power in deciding what data to train on. You can create vastly different models, and we are not always aligned with Chinese goals. Plus, it would be yet another dependency on China.
All he's trying to do here, is play for time to get people to stay invested in the US but move out of US businesses himself and into longer term assets like gold. He's playing the "panic" and "china bad" cards to do it. Don't believe him and divest. Do it before the US crashes.
Okay...
That's just plain wrong. The allies fought the axis on multiple fronts. If that's not support, then I don't know what is.
And why would they? No European country would send their troops into a war against the US to defend a former European country that just declared independence.
Am I looking at different data than you? According to the website you linked, his Alphabet position is 0.61% of his portfolio. Also don't forget that Alphabet had a pretty good run the last few months. That said, I think Alphabet is one of the biggest AI winners long-term.
Western countries give subsidies to EV buyers, Chinese government gives subsidies to EV manufacturers, including for cars sold overseas.
You are raising a good point. And I agree, countries should protect themselves from those practices. But this is done only selectively. Maybe Europe is the better example here, where tariffs only apply to EVs. And you know what. That's not even the problem. Why not buy subsidized products from China, as long as they don't destroy the local industry. But here's the issue. China has invested a lot in green tech and they produce it really cheap. The west is unwilling to make those investments. So they turn to tariffs and pretend that subsidies are the sole problem. Now people cannot by cheap Chinese EVs, but local car companies are also not committed to EVs. Contrast that with solar panels, where the Europeans did the exact opposite, but equally stupid. They let the local solar industry die. And since there are no tariffs, solar panels are actually cheap.
Fighting against Nazis and for a prosperous economy is truly patriotic. Right-wingers have just tainted the word by hiding behind it.
The thing is, they use patriotism as a shield, but they never actually make the country better off. It's just a scam. Left-wingers are the true patriots.
