That sounds like a you problem, not an our problem! 😎

What you could do to really piss your neighbour off is to help everyone else get bigger boats so that your neighbour gets so pissed off and sells the boat because they can’t afford a bigger boat.

If the neighbour buys a bigger boat, just keep upgrading everyone else’s boat until the neighbour runs out of money and sells it.

Now where do I find the post where I can suggest someone buys me a M4 Mac mini so I can run AI locally and try and setup a business so I can get rich and join the boat club before I miss out on the fun? 🤔

There's so many jobs that people don't enjoy but are necessary.

I take it you asked all 7 (or whatever) billion then?

Nobody enjoys working in the middle of an australian desert at 40°C in a lithium mine.

Who says they’d need to? You talk like someone would need to do that because right now capitalism demands more production!

Nobody enjoys collecting your stinking trash. Nobody enjoys sitting in a store for 8 hours a day, scanning groceries.

Again, if we didn’t produce so much garbage, products with layer upon layer of plastic, we’d make glass and clay pots and grow, make and reuse locally making less garbage all the way but then in the 90s you had to collect bin bags off the street, now its all wheelie bins, if my health allowed I would happily go round collecting rubbish.

Also I’ve had issues with drains in the past and when I asked them about the job, they actually enjoyed the challenge. So I think you’re confusing people who do a job because too much demand means people doing jobs for the money rather than less demand would actually mean people wouldn’t even need a set job. Feel like drains on Monday, go for it. Had enough and feel like helping someone tin food on Tuesday, go for it.

Look at Animals, how many animals work 2 jobs just to survive?

Nobody enjoys working in a warehouse for 8 hours.

Another thing thats only a thing because capitalism demands we keep producing more and more shit. That washing machine that used to last 10 years now breaks after the warranty because some riches want more money and power!

It amazes me how blinded people are to a capitalist free world. Look at the waste now, the plastic pollution and then look carefully at the next package you buy and ask “does this really need ‘this’ much packaging? Do i care if this new spade I bought with all its shiny cardboard and plastic protection, arrived with a scratch? But even if the TV was scratched, does it really matter so long as it worked as intended?

But then I have no kids of my own and every year I feel better not having brought kids into this mess because unless you’re born into money now there is very little to offer kids in the near future right. 😕

I mean, thats easy, I don’t have, or care to own a money pit that I only use once a year, i mean boat! 😎

Unless you count 3D printed benchy… and even then if you scaled your benchy up then it’s bigger than mine!

This is how you tell rich people have some serious mental health issue.

Decent people would rather a world where people worked because they enjoy that type of work rather than being forced to do it because they need money to live.

If you removed money, imagine where we'd all be as a society without the toxicity of money, wars and hate! :(

Where did this ‘never wash your jeans!’ mentality come from?

The same place all religious and other propaganda comes from. Plus it’s useful to spot the gullible and easily led people so you can avoid them to save your sanity!

Or gets murdered… so lets add weapons to the drones, just in case you ‘look’ like you’re about to murder someone!

You can now add elements on tablet by long-pressing on an empty space

I’m guessing unless you’re on an iPad?

I’ll try later on the dell 7210 but sadly Apple has screwed up so many things with touch so i’m not surprised when stuff no longer “just works” on Apple!😞🤦‍♂️

Thanks for the quick changes though. I did seem to get a ‘dot’ to show up by tapping and holding but haven’t managed to reproduce how I actually did it and it wouldn’t move when dragging things around so 🤷‍♂️ lol

Sounds good and put a whatsit in for an enhancement.

I don’t pay much attention to shithub so if you want someone to test anything out it’ll probably be easier to shout on here.

Thats cool, I don’t care much for portrait mode tbh, and was just curious if i was missing something.

Would it not be easier just to have an ‘add element’ button that has options for adding a component? Moving stuff around works fine. I’m not even fussed about linking stuff. Just looking for something to visualise the various docker services because i forget whats running on what PI, lol.

Hmm, am I missing something or does it not work on tablets?

Demo looks kinda cool but can’t seem to add anything to the existing projects. 😞

I wasn't a huge discord use but I just removed all the channels before deleting the app on every device.

Not going to make a huge difference but if everyone does it, maybe it will!

I mean, it says on the package.

You need heat, so fly to the nearest sun and install it on the hottest part. Just position carefully so you don't cause the sun to spin slower and cause a cooldown effect as that'll cause it to stop working!

Ok, so I’ve tried a few open source apps for tracking money and they’re either too complicated, a hassle to setup or don’t use mysql/mariadb so would require setting up PostgreSQL 😖

I’m currently using forecast for the iPad which is great but I’m trying to wean myself off Apple giving they’re going to shit too and find all the docker versions I’ve got working are too complicated /faff to use and seem to focus on what you’ve already spent.

So anyone have suggestions for: Simple docker setup Mysql if it won’t do flat file 3 month future forecasting based on recurring transaction

I don’t care what I’ve spent, I want to know, based on the recurring transaction, what my balance is over the next 3 months, so I know if i have spare money to spend/save.

Seems a lot of budgeting apps miss that somehow. 🤨

——— Edit: theres a lot of replies to sort through but thanks to everyone for responding.

I’ve done spreadsheets but it’s still a hassle to setup and I have enough going on to be faffing about trying to learn graphs which is what i’d really like.

I’ve also tried a lot that are listed on https://selfh.st/ but even actualbudget doesn’t seem to be able to forecast unless i’m missing something?

DollarDollar seems interesting but requires postgras and actualbudget seems nice but unless i’m missing something still can’t show future cashflow even if you add something as recurring?

Seems odd that all these apps offer tons of features for what you’ve already spent but nothing for how much you have to spend over the next 2-3 months which is all i care about. 😕
