Eu não disse que o Império Romano eliminou todos os judeus da Palestina. E, principalmente, nunca vi alguém sério falar em "colonialismo do bem". A questão chave é que é ilegal, imoral e irracional reimpor fronteiras de muitos séculos atrás argumentando que "Deus mandou". Nem o Talibã faz isso! Quando iniciou o sionismo no fim do século XIX, os judeus eram uma minoria ínfima (menos de 10%; 4-5% se não me engano) da população da Palestina, e essa minoria era de judeus arabizados.

Defender o sionismo para reverter a situação de muitos e muitos séculos atrás seria como defender que os não-índios sejam expulsos do Brasil para voltar a composição étnica de 1500. Após um povo ocupar uma terra por muitas e muitas gerações, aquela terra passa a ser dele.

Não é a toa que o mundo civilizado (intelectuais, estudantes, acadêmicos, organizações de direitos humanos) condena o massacre dos palestinos. Tem mandado de prisão contra Netanyahu e Yoav Gallant. A Corte Internacional de Justiça (CIJ) reafirmou em 2024 a ilegalidade dos assentamentos na Cisjordânia ocupada (Convenção de Genebra IV, art. 49). O Comitê Internacional da Cruz Vermelha (CICV) classifica os assentamentos como violação do direito da ocupação.

O antissemitismo histórico esteve fundamentalmente associado ao cristianismo (Inquisição, pogroms russos, Holocausto) e não ao Islã. Os muçulmanos historicamente abrigaram e protegeram os judeus, que eram perseguidos pelo cristianismo. O início do conflito veio da chegada do sionismo como projeto de colonização de uma terra de maioria árabe, não a tensões religiosas preexistentes.

This post is intereating, but If I wrote the meme I would not mention aliens. It invites comparisons with certain empty-headed New Atheists that have a fixation on aliens. In my experience, some of them whatch every "science" fiction show involving aliens but read little to nothing about real science.

The typical New Atheist is far more motivated by anti-religious hate than love for Science.

Note, I am aware that atheism is much larger than the New Atheism lunatic cult. My dad (died from pancreatic cancer) was effectively an atheist. He simply avoided (and, rarely, criticized) religion, because it lacks evidence and because there are so many competing ones.

Lula's party is the Workers' Party. It has many internal "tendencies" -- unsure about the best translation. Many Brazilian communists condemn it as socdem. However, at least Breno Altman supports it. Altman is an experienced, competent communist journalist.

PCdoB is allied with the Workers' Party. It is accused of being only nominally communist, but it does have Elias Jabbour, a brilliant expert on China.

PCB, PCBR and UP are communist parties with little (if any) direct electoral power, but they feature famous and competent communist militants like Jones Manoel, and have strong youth wings. I have seen the UJC in both protests I recently attended. UJC is the youth wing of PCBR or PCB. The UJC name is under dispute by these two parties because, sadly, they have recently split.

Two reasons:

1. Kicking Hitler's corpse is a cheap way to pretend to care for human life, without improving anything. But fighting a present genocide could actually prevent it. There might also be pushback. The adage: liberals oppose all wars, except the current war.
2. Europe and its successors (like US and Australia) genocided many red, brown, and yellow peoples. Hitler was meant to genocide slavs (not fully white) and especially communists, but escaped the leash and killed too many French, Jews and other whites.

I didn't see the offending comment, but, generally speaking, forgiveness is cool. I myself caused a struggle session when I lectured Hexbear not to show disrespect on Pope Francis death. Then I edited that comment when I realized it was dumb.

I got disappointed for causing trouble but at least it was a learning opportunity. Recent Popes may have generally nice words, but sweet talk can hide grave evil. Malcolm X comes to mind.

Here in Brazil, for example, some priests use their huge media influence to indoctrinate the faithful with far-right lunacy. Both the Church and the State ought to punish these criminals, but AFAIK neither do.

Rationally, the US would never attack China, but the US is no friend of reason. Education is already bad, and is having budget cuts. Trump is dismantling the department of education. Intense religious fanaticism shows itself via creationism, recurrent moral panics (Satanic panic, abortion, LGBT phobia etc). Racism. Political extremism. Intense obscurantism and scientific denialism. The secretary of offense is covered in tattoos glorifying the Medieval crusades and wrote a book title "American Crusade" explaining the US is in a holy war against Islam and China.

I fear the US might hate China more than it loves itself. I hope it implodes before catastrophe.
