I haven't had the circulator out since Thanksgiving. You've inspired me. Strips it is! I'll try the mustard. I've been itching to roast some marrow too.

My favorite cut. What was your process? What did you do for the sear? From the sous-vide I like to sear on a hot cast iron or a hot grill.

Damn I didn't know that. Crossing that of my list for sure.

Tuna fish casserole. Made me gag. None of my friends ever heard of it back then and not many now. I think it's like an old Betty Crocker type recipe. Today, I love it, but only my mom's.

Understand that RCS is very hit or miss right now. I believe all alternate OS's are having a problem figuring it out. Some people are using it with no problem and other people can't get it to work. There is a looong RCS thread in the GrapheneOS forum.

Community is great. There are many very knowledgeable people there.

I'm searching too. Seafile keeps popping up, but I haven't looked at it yet.

I bought this album (Meatloaf, Bat out of Hell) back when you went to record stores and flipped through albums and bought something because the cover looked cool. I was already listening to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden.. I was like wtf is this. Never understood that genre. And yeah, kiss sucks too.

Hopefully they don't taste too good. Cats are fair game for human consumption in Thailand from what I just read.

Say I want to block, as an example, all top level posts that contain a link to mensheath.com, or vivaldi.com, can I do that?

tldr;

i need an always on, always connected music player that connects to Bluetooth speakers.. without a battery

I have built-in bt speakers in some bedroom furniture. they have a remote that controls volume, play, and pause. they're really meant to connect to an 'always-on' device like a tv. when i connect my phone, they loudly exclaim "bluetooth connected", and "bluetooth disconnected" when the phone bt is turned off or if the phone leaves the area. i like to fall asleep to some relaxing stuff and when i leave in the morning, it of course, wakes up my wife. no good. i've been using a tiny, old android phone (kitkat), always on, always connected. i have a playlist of 50 things that are played randomly and in an infinite loop, but turns off with a timer set from the remote. the remote works well. but, i don't like have a charging battery next to the bed all day and night. AND, i'm not thrilled about the old ass phone that i can't really do anything with.

so, i'm totally overwhelmed with options. i've been looking at all kinds of things that just don't 'do it'. i have been using pi(s) for years (easy stuff, like pihole, basic lan based server with docker, other small projects) , but this is a new uncharted category for me.

  • 1 anyone know if the remote ( pause and play ) will work with the bt on a pi? it works with a phone. i believe it even worked with my pc.
  • 2 what are some apps that will fit this scenario? it would be cool to have maybe web access to the player
  • 3 what pi would work best? music only. seems like a pie zero 2 w would work.
  • 4 are there any kits? anything ready built? <-- would love this option

thanks for reading

So I have some "built in" Bluetooth speakers in a piece of furniture. No other inputs are available, just Bluetooth. I'm trying to find an AC or USB powered MP3/audio player that can transmit via Bluetooth to these speakers. I don't care if it has built in memory or if I need to plug in a flash drive out SD card. I don't want it to have a battery because it will always be in one spot and always on. I only need to be able to pause/play from the speaker remote. I've been using a garbage flip phone that I CAN mod and power from USB, but I'd like a cleaner solution. I don't want to use a phone. I don't want to hack something together. I'm having a hell of a time finding something. Probably 10 hours over 2 weeks. I'm drained. Does anyone have an idea?
