"anyone who wants privacy from their government is a pedophile" is a hell of a stance...

The content of the report seems to contradict the title:

"The report described a series of voltage fluctuations that led to widespread disconnections of power generation in Spain, particularly among converter-based systems commonly used in renewable energy."

So renewable inverter based generation is at least partiality at fault?

As someone who works in the renewable industry, it became common knowledge shortly after this event that grid-following inverters exaccerbated the voltage fluctuations that led to this outage.

For those who don't understand, in a weird coincidence, both Donald Trump and Mikhail Gorbachev have been Pizza Hut spokesmen that starred in Pizza Hut tv ads in their respective markets.

Hardly unravelling, more like being reformed to carry out the current administrations agenda. Anyone not on board is being pushed out. This take that it's "coming apart at the seams" is pure copium. The only thing coming apart at the seams is the old world order.

Even with insurance, many plans have a deductible that requires you to pay the first couple grand on your own before they'll cover anything, and even once you've paid that amount they will require you to cover a couple hundred per day of hospital stay (doubled for two patients: mom + baby).

It is entirely normal to pay thousands of dollars for a normal uncomplicated hospital birth even with insurance.

Electrical Engineer here, that corrosion doesn't look too bad, I wouldn't assume it's the issue but it's not impossible it might be a contributing factor since corrosion on connections can cause heat and heat can trip breakers.

If the breaker trips are happening when you do something like turn on the oven or the toaster then it's just a matter of the electric service to the house being too small for the apartments loads. This can happen if the apartment originally had gas appliances that were later switched to electric or something else (like a hot tub) was later added to increase the electric load beyond what was originally designed for.

If the trips dont seem to correspond to anything you're doing with electric appliances, then the equipment may be going bad or there may be an intermittent short. Both of which are not something you would be able to troubleshoot (and frankly, if you don't know what you're doing, even opening up a panelboard like you've done can be deadly).

Either way I highly recommend you either pressure your landlord to bring in an electrician, or pay for one out of pocket if thats not an option.

Sorry, did you just say "I wonder if the fossil fuel industry has home solar in its sights"?

Perhaps you haven't been reading the news, but Trumps "One Bill Beautiful Bill" abuptly ended tax credits for home solar a few weeks ago, between that and his existing tariffs on solar panels, the breakeven period for a home solar setup is now decades.

The residential solar industry is in freefall right now. Thousands of installers are losing or have already lost their jobs.

I guess I take it for granted that this is common knowledge since I work in the industry, but it's unbelievably bad right now.

Don't acknowledge it at all, you dont owe the guests any explanation about yourself. Just focus on the couple and let anyone who wonders about your gender presentation puzzle it out on their own time.

That's not how it played out in Buffalo NY in their last mayoral election. A socialist won the primary and the Democratic party launched a massive write-in campaign to keep their preferred liberal "Byron Brown" in power, to the point they were handing out stamps at voting locations so that they could be used to easily "write" him. They succeeded in keeping the socialist candidate out, and despite winning, their liberal candidate ended up resigning mid-term to take a cushy C-suite job instead.

Remote desktop support is buggy on gnome and nearly non-existant on other DE's, which speaks to how poor a job wayland does at managing functions between DE's, where each individual DE has to build their own solution for basic functions, further fragmenting development efforts.

Then there's accessibility functions, which wayland breaks almost by design by denying apps access to each other. Even something as simple as an on screen keyboard becomes nearly impossible to implement.

Any software thats being pushed to users as the "main" experience, should not break things as common and fundemental as remote desktop or onscreen keyboards. Great way to drive away potential users switching from windows 10.
