Also, being able to sustain a small group of people somewhere completely contained an inhospitable can be utilized on earth to feed people at home, or recycle water at home.

The only argument I've ever heard about the draft that actually made me consider it was that if everyone was in the army at some point, we would look ar wars very differently.

The number one thing people hated about Vietnam was the draft. The biggest thing that mobilized the American people to protest the war was the draft. Not the death of Americans, but the death of "my Americans".

It might make us a LOT less warlike...

Well, first off the pool is lower because you can't just grab some rando off the street. The whole job is protecting the hen house and you absolutely can NOT put a fox in that position. Reputation, etc:

You also can't put someone who can be turned into a fox into the position. If you're protecting something that could potentially be worth billions stolen, you don't want to pay starvation wages where the instability would make the risk of betrayal seem lower.

If the person you trust now also has to move, then you also have to pay extra for that.

Every movie makes the security guard a big guy falling asleep in front of an array of monitors but that's not the case if the thing you're protecting is worth a LOT.

You know, if it meant that more time would be spent on quality, or reducing crunch, I'd be ok with this.

But ubisoft did it, so it's because they wanna cut the department 20% and give that profit to the shareholders. So no.

That's kinda why I liked DC20 reducing it all to strength, dexterity, intelligence, charisma. Attacking uses whatever is the highest Stat.

Just, super simple and let's you make a wider variety of characters.
