I've seen the stalking charges described as "stalking resulting in death", which I suppose is worse than plain old stalking but not quite murder. Regardless, he's facing a max sentence of life. It seems like he's taking a gamble that he will get less than that.

And as far as I can tell, he is betting they by saying "I killed him" as part of this plea in this trial, he can get out of the state trial.

“While the defendant pled guilty, our office does not have a plea agreement with him,” the U.S. attorney said. “There are no accommodations or concessions, and we are free to seek the maximum penalty under the law.”

There wasn't any plea deal in place, he (in consultation with his lawyers) probably figured this was the best path for him to possibly not get a life sentence. It's as simple as that.

No, it's US voters that put the big asshole in the building (again!).

He's just doing what he does best - wrecking shit.

It would be funny if the Feds give him a slap on the wrist, then hire him to be in the Secret Service, and part of Obama's security detail

Do either of you have a common last name? I get spam calls (and even more emails) all the time really meant for people with a similar name somewhere else.

Tell that to my BCH that I held onto after the fork

If Roger is so successful now how come BCH is still a big fat loser?

We should ask Al Franken what "Woke 1.0" was, I will bet he has an opinion on it

No, AI is profitable for some customers - if you look at things purely on a transactional basis and ignore the environmental costs and blatant copyright infringement.

The only way to force AI companies to go away is for the regulatory bodies to make sure they are paying the full cost of all this, and not freeloading on the rest of us. Then it will cost so much that it will go away entirely, and we will all go back to editing memes in MS Paint, like it oughta be.

I am in favor of AI slop being used for unprofitable endeavors. It accelarates the point at which these companies evaporate, just like their water.

I'm honestly not sure if will help, though. The manager didn't make all those awful trades. When will the GM get fired?

This is a live thread, I bet the title changes later. But this is what it reads now:

Iran live updates: Trump says Iran 'can be taken out in one night'

“The entire country can be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night,” he said of Iran during a briefing at the White House.

What a Stable genius

Short article mentions it's an F15.

NYT also reporting (might be paywalled): https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/03/us/politics/us-fighter-jet-iran.html

I wasn't quite expecting this. It's not like McDermott was the one turning over the ball.

The U.S. has seized survivors after a strike Thursday on a suspected drug-carrying vessel in the Caribbean, the first since President Donald Trump began launching deadly attacks in the region this summer, a defense official and another person familiar with the matter said Friday.
