How is this oniony? I'm not grasping the joke.

All is fair in love and (tug-of-)war.

If they were called the College Nazis then everyone reading this would assume they were some weird, fringe, extremist group with no popular support whatsoever.

But they're not. They're called the College Republicans of America, and the whole reason this is newsworthy is because of the clear link it draws between Nazism and the Republican party.

I'm all for calling them Nazi scum, but let it be known that these Nazi scum claim to be directly aligned with Donald Trump and the Republican platform.

Because magic sky daddy is the most important thing to many people in many places, all the time. Because they've been conditioned to believe that if someone doesn't hold the correct views on magic sky daddy, they'll suffer for all eternity, and so they live in constant fear that they or their children might become misled by the incorrect views on magic sky daddy. This stuff is deeply internalized.

This isn't a real news story from a credible source that reads as though it were satire. This is just tabloid slop.

Amateur tabloid slop at that. They didn't even bother to update the About and FAQ pages from the default WordPress examples.

If it's been six hours and the dog hasn't had a vowel movement, then she may be consonantstipated.

God damn. I just got back from a "vacation" in New York and I can't even imagine it. Even traveling from uptown Manhattan to downtown Manhattan is already a longer commute than I would be willing to tolerate...

He said "removeds play tennis." Not sure if that's a worse slur than dykes or not, but both are shitty things to say.

EDIT: Apparently Lemmy or this instance has a slur filter. It's the F-word against gay men.

I love making vegetable stew. I tend to start with the Vegi Soup Mix from Bob's Red Mill, and while that's simmering, I sear and season the vegetables in a separate pan before combining it for the last 15 minutes or so.

Soup Mix:
Lentils
Split peas
Barley
Vermicelli

Vegetables:
Mushrooms
Onion
Garlic
Carrots
Green Beans
Potatoes

Seasonings:
Salt
Pepper
Thyme
Soy Sauce
(Anchovie-free) Worcestershire Sauce

A bit of bread on the side with Country Crock spread, and I've got a hearty, protein-packed, vegan meal with enough umami flavors to compete with the beef stew that I remember from childhood.

They're Hungary Hungary Hippos 🇭🇺

I'd fallen into the habit of quick-and-easy cooking (or eating out) since my last major depressive episode. Today I felt inspired to make some pizza from scratch. Cooking does wonders for the soul.

I was so eager that I almost forgot to take a picture...!

I got some pizza disks for Christmas, they're a real game changer. I can finally cook a GOOD hand-stretched pizza crust in my home oven without worrying about messing up the launch or preheating the steel. No longer am I limited to pan pizza.

Got some pizza disks for Christmas. Makes it so much easier to cook a good hand-stretched pizza crust in my home oven.

Pepperoni for my wife; mushrooms and onions for me. A blend of mozz, Muenster, and feta on both.
