So I narrowed it down to these 2 and looking for some feedback.

I mainly want to play GameCube and Wii games but would also be interested to play Wii U and Switch games in the future, so would like a device that can in principle support those.

I understand the Ayn Odin 2 is more powerful, but I wonder if the ~$80 price difference is justified based on performance alone considering the Retroid Pocket 5 has a better screen and battery.

Again if that difference is what is going to make or break emulating Wii U and Switch at some point in the future, then it would be money well spent in my view. Just not sure that’s actually the case - What would you advise?

And if it is the Odin 2, is the Base model going to be OK or would I need more RAM as in the Pro and Max models?

Bonus question: I’m in the EU - Should I order them from the official websites shipping from China or find a EU reseller on AliExpress? They’re actually a bit more expensive on AliExpress, but I’d really like to avoid having to pay a 20% import fee if I buy from China.

Thanks!

Revolut has a single-use card feature. The (virtual) card regenerates with a new number after each purchase.

Thank you, some great recommendations!

I have an old Raspberry Pi 1 (!) still going strong with Batocera Linux running NES, SNES and Mega Drive (Genesis) emulators.

I’m looking for easy multiplayer games that can be played with a 5yo. Non violent and ideally co-op, bonus points if somewhat educational.

Depending on your ISP and router you might be able to install WireGuard on it. More generally self-hosting a VPN is pretty straightforward.

How do you get that custom fastfetch output?

Excellent, I can continue not using it.

Following the announcement of the demise of YaST, I adapted my tumbleweed installation to the new setup by installing Myrlyn and Cockpit, and removing YaST:

sudo zypper rm -u yast*

However it’s already been a couple of times that when I zypper dup several yast packages get pulled in for installation.

Is this how it’s supposed to be? Or can I prevent this behaviour?

Thanks!

I’d like to install Leap 15.6 on an older laptop which is currently running Tumbleweed.

I have a single partition with btrfs and the standard subvolumes created during the original Tumbleweed installation.

Can I install Leap while preserving the btrfs @home subvolume? I played a bit the partitioner in expert mode but couldn’t find an obvious way.

Thanks!

Well that’s because Telegram is likely the state messaging app they’re talking about! 😄

Awesome news! Recently migrated from lemm.ee to piefed.social and europe.pub so very much looking forward to being able to use Mlem for both.

Non sorprendente, ma comunque deludente.

Ce n’est pas la même chose de https://www.dns0.eu/ ?

I have an Rpi with Batocera installed and two SNES controllers connected with USB.

I can play NES and SNES multiplayer games perfectly fine, but not on GBA.

Is there any way to emulate local multiplayer gaming on Game Boy Advance?
