Thoughts and prayers.

I said “and”

Learning to fly a drone is much easier access for people to learn. Get a controller and download a sim from Steam. That’s a good start. Also it’s not all about shooting and detonating stuff. Recon, flying supplies etc. Drones have so many uses and it doesn’t have to be defence either. They are used in surveying, farming, fire fighting, real estate you name it. It’s a great skill to develop with many uses.

Buying one start at about $200 so much cheaper than a PAL and a rifle. Let alone ammo to practice as well as most people would need range access too. That’s all quite pricey.

Also not everybody is into fire arms and defence often gets reduced to shoot up and detonating stuff. There is so much more to it. As you mentioned the first aid/medical knowledge would be critical too.

I wish they would be listed on TSX. I started to invest in Canadian defense companies. Moved all my money away from US stocks.

Or … the rats are leaving the sinking ship.

She better stay home anyways.

Oh yes! Let’s be friends with a nice vacation destination and pineapple grower!

Exactly. NYT (USA) really needs to shut up. We were totally fine until they lost their mind and started to threaten us. Go clean up your own messes before you talk about others. Nobody has a shit pile as large as you.

I cancelled it all. I can do without just fine.

I had previously looked at getting a BetaFPV Air75. It’s out of stock at my store right now so I am looking a bit further into what I want.

What I want to do: move on from sim, first indoors, then outdoors. I am not really into acrobatics or racing. My (first) goal is really to comfortably cruising around and taking pics/video on the farm.

Now I came across these cinewhoops and I am thinking that might be a good one to start with. Right now best deal and available is the Talon:

https://www.hglrc.com/products/hglrc-talon-2-inch-cinewhoop-analog-hd-fpv-drone

I watched/read several reviews and it seems to be a good beginner option that sits between sturdy tiny whoop (incl indoors flying) and filming outdoors eventually. Price is right in my range too! It can also carry a GoPro which I have.

Now there are two options available: VTX 800mW analog or Power kit (no vtx)

I don’t think I’ll like analog and eventually opt for something like the DJI O3?!

Can I mount that later if I go with the power kit? Really in the beginning I won’t even film. I want to practice flying. But I would love it if I could add a camera (go pro or dji) later. Is that what the power kit if for?

Does anybody know?

I am flying sim (liftoff) right now and I just want a small/cheap drone to practice indoors (and eventually outdoors). Goal is to be skilled enough to fly and take pics and videos on a farm. No racing, tricks etc.

I see the original Air75 is now discontinued/out of stock. The new one comes in three types: champion, racing and freestyle.

Which version do I get?

A quick mini tote bag out a 2 oz dark cherry leather.

I was wondering how you hobbyists say no to friends and acquaintances mostly. I have gifted a few small things and others just know that I do leather work.

I am getting inundated with requests and some are just way too much work. Of course they offer to pay but my time is limited and really I can’t even ask for a real hourly rate without out being prohibitively expensive. Especially when I have to design from scratch it takes me a ton of time.

I also would like to keep it a hobby and make when and what I want and not fulfill orders! I already have a side hustle I don’t need another one.

I was wondering how your experience is and how you handle this.

Is anybody using the workout on demand program? I am curious how it is. Looking mostly for strength, core, yoga, HIIT, indoor cycle and treadmill workouts. Also do they have some trial offer?

I got a kit and just assembled it. I tried to google it and I can turn it off but it powers back up after 5 minutes or so. I haven’t even set it up yet. Any ideas what’s going on?

I am looking for single serve (5g) packs for traveling. Has anybody seen any?

Edited to add: I actually found some on Amazon 😏 but still interested to see if somebody has tips for buying from a friendly place.

I will be signing up if they offer that. New skills are always good. Best case we never have to use them but worst case we are a bit more prepared.

“Those who join the civil defence corps would face less restrictive age limits and meet lower physical and fitness requirements. Their training would be limited to five days per year to ensure accessibility.

In that short period, volunteers would learn skills such as shooting, moving, communicating, driving a truck and flying a drone, according to the mobilization plan. Canada’s civilian force would get medical coverage during training, but not pensionable benefits.”

Is anybody buying whey isolate from them? Right now I am buying Body Energy Club‘s clean isolate and it got quite pricey in recent months.

I see that Canadian Protein has vanilla with stevia and also unflavoured in bulk. Great pricing. How is the quality and (non) flavour?

I see some bad reviews regarding shipping and customer service that worries me a bit. Especially since they offer some sort of “shipping protection” for $7.99 at checkout?!

Any input would be appreciated!

Has anybody tried a T1000-E as Rnode? I am super new to all of this and just trying to figure out what hardware I need. Otherwise I would go and order a Heltec V3 which I believe is supported.

Finally after over a month of order issues I have one of my T1000-E trackers. It was easy to set up and connect and I see several nodes. Haven’t reached anybody yet. I am in Canada but the location on the map still shows Shenzhen in China. I don’t see anything to change that and was also expecting the GPS would do its thing?!

The lamp isn’t used/connected any longer. It’s wide open around the building but no way to get there. The tractor won’t reach. 😟
