Castlevania 64. Not even Legacy of Darkness, the original one. It gets a lot of hate I think just because the rest of the series has such awesome games and it gets held to a high standard but just as a N64 game I loved it.

I've used it in the past and its awesome. It works very well even on ancient hardware and is a fully functioning OS even if you never install it and just run it in live mode. Its basically a computer you can keep on your keychain and run on anything.

Elementallis! It is very heavily inspired by old school Zelda games, but does a pretty awesome job being fun in the ways those are.

The rain with the dramatic music at the beginning of Link to the Past is pretty awesome too.

This bugs me too and I'm glad I'm not the only one. You DO see it everywhere after getting annoyed at ChatGTP doing it.

I started with Ubuntu and then Mint, I don't think the system files being modifiable is a huge issue, I don't think many noobs are really doing much to mess with them. If you're just looking for something that does your basic everyday things then its just installing the OS and then putting your apps on there.

I'm in the same boat, I loved the book series but never got into the show. But yeah, excellent series, I was sad to be finished with it.

I loved JS&MN, and thought this was a cool addition to it.

I am still midway through the last book so not quite done yet, but so far absolutely amazing series. If you liked the Netflix Castlevania show its got kind of simmilar vibes.

Empire of the Dawn, the third book in the Empire of the Vampire series that just recently dropped. Which I am quite digging, a big epic fantasy series about vampires that is really engaging and well written.

Mine makes noises like "Its-a me, Mario!"

I was not thrilled with Cosmic after upgrading Pop! but switching DEs on Linux is very easy so it wasn't a huge issue. I think Cosmic could be cool given more development, it just needs time. Though Pop! making it their default seems like a bad idea for them, its one of the beginner friendly distros that always gets recommended to new Linux users and now that's going to be their first impression.
