Some things just don't work properly on Wayland. For example, #NoMachine remote #Plasma desktop sessions connect, show a white screen, then disconnect. Switching to an X11 session solves the problem. This is a showstopper, so I'm sticking with X.Org.

Google does this to a lot of developers, arbitrary decisions, with often little to no recourse.

It's the same story on YouTube, most recently with @geerlingguy and his video on installing LibreElec, a totally legal endeavour that does NOT depend on or promote piracy.

He got it restored in the end, but I doubt he'd have managed that if his channel hadn't been the size it is.

I wish I could entirely liberate myself from Google, but when it came to choosing between a Pixel phone + GrapheneOS or the hyper ethical and sustainable Fairphone 5, I had no choice but to pick the latter. So, I'm still tied to a 🤬 Google account.

I hope GrapheneOS will consider supporting the Fairphone range of phones at some point, as they offer even longer support than Google does for their Pixels, making it an ideal and stable target platform.

Like KDE Itinerary (one of my favourite KDE apps, together with KDE Connect), KTrip keeps getting better with every release.

Even though I've got both KTrip and Transportr installed, my go to travel planner has been Öffi for quite some time, because of its fabulous timetable display. I need to break my habits and make KTrip my sole app for a while.

I really shouldn't be astonished, but I am 😵.

This is, of course, utter abuse of user data, but what's even worse is that Google allows this.

#Conversations was taken off Google Play, and forced to remove its contacts linking feature for #privacy reasons, despite the fact that no contact data was ever uploaded to any servers, yet #Citymapper is allowed to share highly sensitive precise location data with third parties for the sake of #profit?!

🤬 Goodbye Citymapper!!

Thankfully we're not exactly short of #opensource alternatives: I love how #Öffi displays the timetables, but we also have #Transportr and KDE's #KTrip (which not only works on Android but also on #mobilelinux).
