I admit I was too hasty in calling it out as AI. For my own sanity, I tried drawing lines connecting the stars and determined there is likely a deep ripple in the fabric which causes the stars to be misaligned. It's not, however, straight like the image of the superimposed flag you attached, though.

And yes, I might 'lose the plot' sometimes, but I eventually try to get back on track :)

Look at the image I've attached. The stars are clearly messed up. It's the same thing I usually see in gen AI stuff: when there's a repeating pattern, it tends to fall out of sequence near a visual border. In this case, the stars get bunched up and new ones added close to flag just to the left.

Perhaps AI was only used to enhance the image? Or it's a homemade flag?

Edit: It's true that not everything is AI. There's a nonzero chance that the flag is warped, which is causing the pattern break, or something else created artifacts. It's just really hard to trust anything right now, no matter the source.

Are those photos AI? Look at the US flag in the top image (not the prominent flag, the tiny one in the distance above the guy shouting with his arms up). Look closely at the stars... they make no sense!

We are going to have a near-complete filter over everything we see online, aren't we? The data centers need to not exist anymore >:|

I'm guessing you're referencing the Hamas Charter. It has since been updated:

While the 1988 Hamas Charter had been widely criticized for its antisemitism, the 2017 document removed the antisemitic language and stated that Hamas' fight was not with Jews as such because of their religion but with the "Zionist project."[10][11][12][13][14][15] When asked, Hamas leaders explained that "The original charter has now become a historical document and part of an earlier stage in our evolution. It will remain in the movement's bookshelf as a record of our past."[16]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Hamas_charter

They haven't fully repudiated the old charter, though, so there's that. But I can't fault them for trying to push back against the "Zionist project." Anyone would fight for their right to continue living on their ancestral lands, if threatened.

Thank you, I will definitely check those out.

It also seems I can root my phone, but I'd rather not go that route until absolutely necessary (e.g. some future update that breaks side loading).

I turn off my phone every night, so I changed that back as soon as I found out.

They also messed with the navigation bar... Before, instead of having three buttons, you could have it display three lines at the bottom that you used by swiping upward. They did away with that, so now your only options are 1) the three regular buttons that are too easy to accidentally press and take up too much screen real estate, or 2) one line that is harder to use combined with a back functionality enabled by swiping from the left ir right sides of the screen. It's not only slower to use than the three lines, but it also results in accidentally going back when trying to scroll horizontally.

They could have left an option to keep the three lines, but no, they love reminding us we don't really own the devices we pay for >:|

Idk, but in this instance, we have Paul the Apostle to thank for Christians' submission to authority, no matter how vile it is:

Romans 13 1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

more2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

Here you go: https://archive.ph/1XWrP

For reference, the way you do it is:

  1. Copy the article's link
  2. Go to archive.ph and paste link in the second text field to search for an already-archived version
  3. If nothing comes up, paste the link in the first text field to archive the article (will take a few moments)

Hmm, I just tested with Firefox on Android (w/ uBlock Origin installed) and saw no such thing. Maybe you hit an invisible limit?

Sucks that 12ft.io was taken down; it was easy to prepend it to any address. (I was even using it as a proxy as an fu to news and government sites I didn't like.) At least archive.is/ph still works.

Definitely. It would have to be curated similarly to Wikipedia, with discussions, disclaimers and ample references. Also, it would need to be stressed that alternative medicines only be used as a last resort.

Hi,

I found this awesome app the other day. Stream live internet radio from all over the world with no ads or in-app purchases. It has a search function, lets you create and arrange a favorites list, shows the bitrate of each stream, displays current song and artist, etc. It's crazy all the things you can find, even local stations.

Happy listening~

Hi,

I tried contacting PowerA about which parts I'd need to fix joystick drift and a sticky directional button, but they would not help.

It's a long shot, but does anyone know if the parts needed are available for purchase? I don't like making e-waste.

Alternatively, does anyone know of a good Android controller that can be repaired easily? (e.g. Something I won't have to make custom silicone pads for or otherwise get too technical.) Or should I just get a wireless XBox controller?

Thanks
