I keep expecting Dickensian high jinks and a pick-pocketing mentor with a heart of gold.

Uhhhhh.....mind putting in a good word for me when they turn up?

Yeah, it's rough. My dad's been on extended medical leave, in and out of hospital, but is having to consider going back to work before he's actually appreciably better because he's not able to afford just living on the benefits he's receiving. If I could send money his way I would but we're struggling ourselves, so it's not an option on a regular basis.

We moved from London to Edinburgh mid 2022. We uhhhh....have a lot of shit.... Turned out cheaper to rent a small Luton van and just do multiple trips ourselves. Rental and fuel came to just under £900, hiring movers was going to be £2200 for the cheapest quote we got. I did 6 roundtrips in 5 days. It was brutal.
Sorry about your dad mate. My wife's dad is in a slow decline, dementia, and both my parents are in quite poor health. It's tough, especially when they're not close by.

Being a hero and being a monster aren't mutually exclusive sadly.

Yeah, the slowest part of my last camping trip back home was getting out of Vancouver, and then the bit at the end up an old logging road.

Thing is, in under 4 hours....you can't even get out of Canada!

Kinda a bit of flight path shenanigans, Vancouver to London Heathrow is around 10 hours, but that's over the top. Edinburgh to Toronto is around 7 hours.

London to Vancouver

Edinburgh to Toronto.

I mean, in a way it is. But sometimes 3.5hrs doesn't even get you from London's ring road in the east straight through to the west side of the ring road. Bit different if you're able to do 70mph(or the Canadian limit of 110kmph, so like....68ish?) the whole time.

Yeah, if I was living in one and working in the other then I'd fly or take the train obviously. No way I'm doing that drive daily, that's insane. But for a few days trip, no sweat.

Economy of scale is way different. The entirety of the UK fits into British Columbia almost 4 times.... https://www.comparea.org/GBR+CA_BC
I'd happily leave work at noon on Friday, get to my camp site at 8 or 9pm. Do camping stuff Saturday, wake up hung over Sunday and be home for 8 or 9pm and be fine for Monday morning. Works better if you've got someone to switch out driving every few hours.

Places like australia and the us really cant understand what having almost all a nation within daily travel distance of a single city means.

Moving to the UK from Canada was a trip. People at work losing their mind when I say my wife and I are driving to Edinburgh from London in a oner, meanwhile the time/distance from my perspective is a reasonable expectation for a weekend camping trip.

Why could they not do this same thing with fentanyl though?

In a way they do? If I'm remembering correctly there was a wave of kids ODing in Canada because of fentanyl patches going around, and they were cutting them up and sucking on them or something. The patches are like nicotine patches, and the distribution of the fentanyl was/is uneven, so enough for a dose one time could be 5× the dose the next.
The patches are for people who have long term chronic pain. They're meant to be absorbed over a full day for pain management.

Fuck you for reminding me what day it is.... that's enough internet for me thanks

Yeah....I wasn't joking.

I hate the hype train. This is the only game I have been legit excited about in years, possibly even a decade.
There's no pre-order, though I'm likely to grab it when EA comes. I'm ready to be disappointed, but I'm staying positive about it.

We're in the UK, and the soil was purchased from a UK supplier, but no telling where it's actually from, likely still the UK but who knows.

Largest cap is around 15mm across with a 25ish mm stalk. White all over except for the centre of the caps that have a light yellow spot.

Bit paranoid about eating any of the herbs from the planter now.

An ID would be great.

The title.

Feel free to ask me stuff. I'm in Scotland, born in Canada. I've been a mason for coming on 15 years. And my favourite dinosaur is....not really a dinosaur.....the Stenopterygius species. because they're tubby not quite dolphin looking (apparently) reptiles.

Wracking my brain. Alcoholic teen main character with imaginary bird friend always telling him to smoke drink and light stuff on fire. All I can remember from the theme is "he's really fucked up and we don't know why"

Editted title to conform to updated posting guidelines.

Anyone tied in with the BC NDP? I'm an export(I hate the term expat, doesn't apply to me, always be a Canadian regardless of where I live) currently in the UK. Elections.ca says the candidate registration deadline is the 7th, and details to be released 9th. But I'm a bit antsy to see who's running for my registered riding. It'd be nice to have a chance to look into who I'm going to be voting for. My main concern is that sometimes mail can take quite a while to get through to home from here, and I want to be able to send my ballot as early as possible so I'm positive that it will get to Ottawa before 6pm of the 28th.
As we all know this election has a lot potentially hanging on the outcome, and I want my say counted.

Thanks for any info or thoughts. ✊

I looked through the posts here, and the various threads on the git. Saw that the feature was implemented, but doesn't appear in my settings?

Just wondering if it was axed, never actually got rolled into main, or was rolled back due to stuff?

Using Voyager, so maybe an issue with how it's communicating with the picture services?

I don't have a pre-cheat save, and I'm stuck in Ruan because I have turned in one of a stack of key items, but since I still have a load of them I can't progress. Also can't hand the item back more than once. Looking like I'll have to either find a save that's around the same area as I am, or start from scratch......

If anyone has any idea how to delete items from your inventory.....for the love of f**k please clue me in....
