Living in a city- i see this (and what makes this a funny meme) is that it shows the "free market" "solving" a problem by making private profit from a public space. The lime scooters are left all over the place, and these companies do not pick them up every day. They clog side walks, roads, bike racks, etc.

Its so bad that some cities (like the one im in) is negotiating contracts with providers to make them develop some infrastructure to keep their private property that they are profiting off of out of spaces that are public use.

I get its better to use less cars, i ride a bicycle, but there's a reason people dont leave their personal bikes in the middle of the sidewalk, that motivation isnt there for the scooters. So it creates a "unique form of corporate litter" as I've heard others say.

Its a free market solution that companies profit off of by externalizing the cost of storing their shit in public spaces for free - such as what is shown in the meme photo. If you did that with something else then your car would get a ticket or someone would fuck with your bike for being an asshole.

It feels more like reddit now, but still is populated by a certain type of person that would seek out Lemmy. Mostly techy, left of center+, over age 30+, etc. I enjoy it.

I think you are either a vegan that is still at the "I enjoy sniffing my own farts and want to rage at everyone" stage (usually <5 years and under age 30) or you are just a typical internet troll.

What you eat is a personal choice from what's available to you. Some people can't afford organic vegetables and can only get protein from animal sources because they subsistence farm. Some people live in industrialized societies and have the time and resources to make most of their own food from scratch and not eat anything from animals (that's me).

Grandstanding about it on the internet or thinking one way or another is superior abstracts this to philosophy and outside of reality. Ultimately its a choice and moralizing it or talking about hypotheticals or judging others character based on your own beliefs is ridiculous. Some people think meat is murder, some people hunt species that are over populated because humans have killed all the predators, there's always a counter point to every part of the discussion.

You have Jains in India causing public health crises feeding pigeons and causing disease to spread, and you have people eating meat contaminated with shit giving them e coli from factory farms. There's people that hunt and respect the animals they kill to feed their families, and people that grow their own food in their backyard because they have time and property.

It's all relative, it's all a personal nuanced choice. Ive heard the same moralistic arguments ad nauseum, there's no one way to live and no one way to eat in this current world.

I dont think most people on this thread do. Who here is of higher rank or social status or superior? I dont think anyone does, they just want to grandstand in the comments.

Seems the person that posted who is vegan thinks they are. Seems the people making all sorts of comments are also defending themselves or think they are superior.

It's always been funny to watch this. Who gives a fuck what you eat and why, its a personal choice not a morally superior quasi-religious issue.

ITT being morally superior punching down on vegans complaining that they act morally superior and punch down. All done under a photo of someone elbow deep in cow.

Thanks for your perspective, I think you are spot on. After studying abroad in China 20 years ago the propaganda we have here is converging on being as overt as what I saw there. Hopefully enough Americans course correct before it gets worse.

Im old enough for pre you tube. No one taught me to cook. I stopped eating meat and dairy pre 18 years old and either had to learn myself or eat crap stuff.

I started with a few cook books and simple stuff. Made the same thing over and over again and refine it, like a stir fry. What I learned then translates to the next thing.

I try to learn a few "new" dishes or techniques every year and its built up over 20+ years.....

Uh, no lecture from me. It's sadly true. Hopefully that changes but there's too many chuds in this country as of today.

Doesn't ro kahna take tech money? Not trying to shit on him, he is better than most. Google is his top donor. He says a lot of good stuff in interviews.

Compare that to AOC, looks like most of her funding is small donations. I'd vote for more people funded like that given the choice (ha not like there's much choice).

Too many games are "survival" games now which really means they will make you do a bunch of chores to get to the sub par shooter or adventure game the chores gate you from. No, I don't want to chop wood and get rope or whatever for the 50th game that never innovates on any of these mechanics to get to the "good part"

Also lots of fun games seem to be ruined because they are battle royales.
