I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to investing, so I’m hoping for some guidance. A few months ago, I switched my RRSP to RBC InvestEase and selected the socially responsible portfolio because I wanted my investments to better reflect my values. Recently, I started receiving letters from iShares (BlackRock) thanking me for my investment. I didn’t realize that my money would be going through BlackRock, and I’m not comfortable with that. What are my options if I want my RRSP to: Be managed by a Canadian company Invest primarily or exclusively in Canadian organizations Follow socially responsible investing principles Is this something I can request through RBC, or would I need to move my RRSP elsewhere? Thanks in advance for any advice.

So where are the calls to action against this? I have found a petition on it but not much else.

https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-7146

My roommate asked I post this for them.

Recently I've seen everyone making Ina Garten's brownie pudding and it looks so good! The only issue is that it calls for 4 eggs + recipe produces a lot and that felt like too much. I tried seeing if anyone else had made a vegan ver but no luck.

I experimented with a recipe (not a vegan one) from Eleanor Wilkinson.

https://www.eleanorgwilkinson.com/recipes/single-serve-brownie-pudding-my-take-on-ina-gartens-viral-dessert

Here's what I changed to make it vegan:

Instead of half a chicken egg, use 2 hefty tablespoons of Just Egg. Sub vegan butter for real butter. I've had issues with my vegan butter exploding in the microwave even in 30 second bursts so i heat it slowly over a metal bowl on stove stop. I used about 1.5 tbsp vegan butter melted.

FYI: This will not work for other vegan egg substitutes like a flax seed egg or apple sauce unfortunately. Sorry if you don't have Just Egg available, i can't think of an alternative!

Just Egg won't whip up like chicken egg so just mix it with the sugar as usual. (I tried an electric whisk and it still didn't lighten).

As recipe says, bake in a water bath. I baked mine for 30 minutes and some parts were more set up than the bottom. If you don't like it as runny I'd say leave it for 5 more minutes.

Dust with powdered sugar and add vegan ice cream and it's a delish single serving treat 🙂 this is optional step of course lol

As a result, Silva says he now parks his car at a friend’s home downtown and then takes an Uber or the TTC back to his home.

Then why not just take the TTC to your place of work Like millions of others do everyday? That's why it exists.

I attempted a recipe I was getting from a local diner. You just crumble and squeeze some extra firm tofu in a oat milk bag, and toss it with some curry powder. Then fry it up with some onions, peppers, black beans, corn, spinach and really whatever feels good.

I served it with some fresh seeded sourdough toast from a local bakery and some tater tots (because I'm way too lazy to make proper hash browns)

Easy and delicious

I think Ive seen something like this before it was part of a anti bug candle thingy as a kind of ash tray. At least that is what it was being used as at the time.

And here I thought this was just some Rimworld lore thing

Every choice we make has an impact on the world around us. Sometimes that impact is very small, but it is still real. For example, we live on a planet with a limited amount of clean drinking water. This can make me wonder if using a service like ChatGPT uses resources that contribute, in even a tiny way, to water shortages in the future.

I also think about the things I buy. If I wear a T-shirt made in Malaysia, does that support unsafe working conditions or child labour? If someone is harmed in a factory that makes these clothes, do my purchases make me partly responsible?

These thoughts lead to a difficult question: if I am responsible for even a small part of many harms, such as being 0.001 percent responsible for the deaths of 1000 people through many small everyday actions, does that mean I have caused a death simply by living my life?

I wonder if it's my autism that makes me consider these things because to me it seems no one else does.

I see all the memes about guillotines for the rich, funny in spirit, but actually building one in the town square is not practical. They take a ton of materials, they are huge, and they do not even work reliably. Would it not make more sense to build one from metal with hydraulic pistons or something? I am not a machinist, but a more mobile unit you could wheel into a square to decapitate a few effigies seems about as effective for sending a message, and easier to remove or relocate if needed.

It's hard to build stuff in the shield.

Sent $20. Not a lot these days, but you're right. Our warriors fought hard and will need help to keep fighting.

That seems good. Though I wonder if there is a third party behind those gift cards and the transaction process from them. I suppose as long as it's not Visa it's a good option.

No idea what that means. But if you post someone's work you should attribute it. Fortunately OP corrected it here so good on them.

I'm not great with details, but I remember reading that many of us in the neurodiverse community struggle with sleep or energy levels.

Back in my early 20s, I went through the whole sleep clinic process. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and mild narcolepsy. They prescribed me a full-face CPAP mask because my mouth doesn't stay closed at night. That didn’t last long I dumped it after 2 months. I’m not a still sleeper — more like a rotisserie chicken — and the full mask just made me choke on my own drool. The doctors were frustrated and not very helpful. It felt like they expected me to control my body even while unconscious.

Now, over 10 years later, I’m going through the process again. Apparently, my body still isn’t getting enough oxygen during sleep, and it’s causing problems.

Still, I can’t help but wonder if the doctors are missing something — like autism as a potential root cause of sleep issues. In my neurodiverse friend group (both autistic and ADHD), I’m the only one not sleeping 12 or more hours a day. So now I’m left wondering what’s really going on — with me, and with them.

A PC is pretty much a space heater these days. Which is not great when it gets all hot and humid outside.

Many suggest just getting a small AC but why not remove the heat from it's source and put it outside?

I imagine the vent being much smaller than the big AC tube pictured.

A plush bunny representing Autism

The tag shows that the bunny has 4 things symbolizing Autism, many infinity spectrum symbols, eyes that look up as he avoids looking at you, it covers it mouth unable to verbalize, or stimming, it also just has soft yellow fur

A birthday gift to myself I'll be 38. This is a plush from Plushie Dreadfuls I'm still learning about myself and working on self compassion. My autism is something I like about myself it's part of who I am. I figured this will help me visualize that part of myself and show it love.

Also this thing is ridiculously soft and very good quality.

It ain't pretty but it'll hold.

We had a pretty good snowstorm. I noticed this guy out still looking for a late night snack.

Bun

Middle of night woke up just to write this somewhere. Sorry is words are bad.

Game that's 2 player.

Player one is in a 3rd person fully emersive 3D city. This is a PC game. Player one is always host. The objective is just to make it to the other end of the city. No guns or anything. The city is being destroyed by a mysterious force. Plans are crashing building being leveled you just need to make it to safety without being crushed. It's night, theres fire and screaming, explosions all around scary stuff.

Player 2 is playing on a tablet or touch screen device. They are playing a cute game where all you need to do is tap the dot. The dot moves slowly from one end of the screen to the other hiding under colorful pipes and squares. You can also tap butterflies and things the dot might hide under to remove them. There is a lot of positive happy noises.

The dot is player one. The real catch. Player 2 is a cat.

Back in the early days of the internet I found this site with cool desktop backgrounds. I had one for a few years, and while digging though old files I found the it. So we are talking like to late 90s or early 2000s. I think the site was like "dark ___" or somthing edgy like that

I was curious if the old site was still around, or at least the artist, but Google reverse search didn't come up with anything.

It says primal on the bottom right, I didn't see much from the binary.

Renting a room in an old house. The landlady is one of the rare good ones and cooks for me somtimes so I'm trying to be handy where I can.

This light in my office died, and a few others in the house are in dire need of replacing. Rusted and covered in decades of caked on dust, probably hazardous.

I keep seeing units like this. https://a.co/d/iU3hAd3

But I'm wondering if I should get a few of those or get another bulb style ceiling lamps and just use LED bulbs?
