We're just dropping slurs for no reason now, huh? What if we didn't do that?

I'm so sad they quit the original vision. I'm of the age that I have nostalgia about the cartoons, but the comic was so good.

Not the most obscure one, but try The Boys. Comic is WAAAAY better than the show. Also extremely disturbing at times. Best comic I have ever read.

Edit: I forgot halfway through I replied, recommendation was for OP mainly.

Also Hellboy, Kill Six Billion Demons (https://killsixbilliondemons.com/), John Constantine, Hellblazer, Sandman, V for Vendetta, Preacher. I'll try to add more if I think any.

I think you might be right from what I can gather without a video to check the body language and a longer term observation.

Spot on, but I would personally go for slow horizontal approach to cheeks if you don't know the cat, a lot of cats freak out about things above them, so going directly to top of head is a bit risky, and has gotten me bit before. I would offer a scent mark target first, just stick a (tucked in, hard to bite!) knuckle out for them and if they rub their cheek against it, you're golden. After that I would move to chin and then top of head/behind ears.

To me it sounds like it could be what some littermates do to eachother, he's calling you to play. Our cats will do this same thing, but to each other: Jade will first go groom Ciri's face for a bit, perhaps a little stranglehold here, or she flops down in front of her sister, asking her to jump on top and wrestle, a lot like what you've described in the post. YMMV obviously, you know your cat better than a stranger online etc., but my two cents from my experience with a lot of litters in the past, I've seen this before many times.

It can also be what comment above said, he could be just showing his trust to you, but since it's such a high stakes thing, he could be a little overstimulated and doesn't know what he actually wants, and just reacts like his instincts are telling him.

Oh that's interesting, I'll look into it. Cheers!

I've been floating the idea of running Matrix on my NAS anyway, so thanks to Discord for finally pissing me off enough to prioritise getting off of the shitty platform.

Exactly, I had to work through a bunch of stuff, and took 6 years in uni for BA, goal is 3 years. Then I left and worked on myself again, and went back to school for a different field at 26y, graduated at 29. Wife got her BA at 27, masters at 32 and is now working on doctorate.

There is no one fits all path, guide or schedule for life. Do your best, fuck anyone who would sneer at your huge achievement just because it took a little more time.

So are we just casually dropping slurs now?

Happy to help!

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous takes hundreds, for some thousands of hours to complete due to the complexity and sheer scope of it.

Thank you, much appreciated!

So sitrep:

Newish desktop

  • i7-13700K
  • 64Gb DDR5 6000Mhz
  • RTX 3070Ti
  • MSI PRO Z790-P (WiFi is not a factor, permanent ethernet connection.)

Needs:

  • Gaming
  • Music composing
  • Coding (Mostly python)
  • Video editing

I've been using Linux on and off throughout the years, but lately I've fallen out of the loop somewhat. Started with Slackware around 1998, Kubuntu in the 2000's, Ubuntu 2010's, Kali and Mandrake 2020's -> on my laptop, Ubuntu server on my RasPi. At work, we have a few Fedora servers I have to maintain. So not a complete novice, but somewhat obsolete info.

I have been looking at the immutable distros, like Bazzite and Pop!_OS as I've done the whole song and dance of constantly repairing my distro because of various issues, and I'd like my main recreational machine & distro to be low maintenance, I get to fix linux servers at work enough already, I don't want to bring that home.

With gaming, I've understood that linux has come a loooooong way since I last tried sometime around TBC Launch for WoW when Wine barely worked with it.

Music composing is a little annoying, since apparently both Ableton and FL studio are not an option. I've heard good things about Reaper, but I'll have to do some more research. Feel free to educate me on this topic if you have some insider info. I don't play live sets, just compose and mix.

Video editing, currently I use Davinci Resolve, and apparently it works fine on Linux, just some limitations and shenanigans with codecs. Alternatives are welcome, I don't need 90% of what resolve offers, I can make do with a simpler software as well.

Thank you kindly in advance for departing thine wisdom.

EDIT: Ended up installing Bazzite, and KVM virtualizing OpenSuse Tumbleweed and vanilla Fedora, keeping my backups for now on the NAS so I will be able to easily nuke & go with Tumbleweed (I think) next, since so many people seem to swear by it. Thank you everyone for the great advice!

Cata had a rough year, 14 months of on-off infections, and with that cone of shame. Now 6 months of no cone! Turns out, she's allergic to mites, so started steam cleaning of all fabrics she's in contact with and we keep her food in the freezer, and she's all good. I haven't been this happy and stress free for a year that I am now.

As a bonus, a more uncommon breed for most of the world. She's our little square-shaped, retired hunter. Turned 11 this spring, but you can't really tell, still energetic and playful as ever.
