As that one retired general said. We need Nuremberg-style trials. Either the democrats enact them, or the US will fall into republican-controlled dark ages.

While Moldova’s pro-European government holds Moscow responsible for the spill, pro-Russian propagandists claim the crisis was an accident caused by a Ukrainian truck on the Otaci-Moghilau (Mohyliv) bridge and had nothing to do with the war. Cojocari says this is implausible. “I went to check the bridge and there was no oil slick there. Plus the bridge is lower down the Nistru River than Naslavcea, so I wouldn’t have seen the petrol stains in the case of an accident lower down,” Cojocari said.

Tankies, man. Too stupid to live. But as Trump has shown, even the most brazen lie can convince the gullible, if it's just repeated often enough and with enough conviction.

Trump thought his "little" Iran stunt would burry the epstein business, only to be backstabbed by his own wife. Very nice.

As I expect and demand from them.

I'd actually caution against buying suspiciously cheap drives. There has been an epidemic of scammers selling (heavily) used drives as new.

It doesn't, not by itself. But I was more looking at it from the perspective that Altman is a tech-bro billionaire that is actively vying for having his AI integrated into the US military. And a guy like that is in my mind absolutely an 'Israel above all' type of jew. So the behavior of his AI tracks.

Wasn't there a post recently complaining about an AI coding agent wanting to stop working consistently? Maybe that's related.

As per Wikipedia:

[Sam] Altman was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 22, 1985, to a Jewish American family.

Typical republican behavior. They don't care about injustice, until it is done to them. And they perceive the criticism on Israel as injusticdd.

For me at least, for months now, this instance is unavailable for multiple hours a day. Given the recent posts about the lemmy eco system being on a slight downwards trend, I don't think this additional load is caused by more users using this instance. Rather, I think that AI scrapers are using this instance to scrape lemmy. If I am correct, though only someone with access to the logs can check, I'd like to kindly ask for some sort of protection from AI scrapers. Both because I like being able to actually browse the instance and because I hate AI companies.

I got banned from the europe.ml community, shocker, I know, for being an absolutely vile human being. Let's see what got removed.

OK, well, maybe not so vile, but that Rule 2 must be a really hard-hitting one to justify the ban.

Wait, the rule doesn't even mention banning someone? And the comment isn't even an article? I guess the mod got his feefees hurt, because I dared to disagree with the original post of the thread. So everything's the same over on .ml.

With the news of Charlie Kirk's passing, many conservatives are asking for sympathy, less violence and praise Charlie as someone who was open to having his ideas challenged and interested in honest debates. This is a throwback to what Charlie Kirk had to say when Pelosi was attacked.

I am sure to upset a lot of purists with this, but as a hobby "sysadmin" of my own linux server at home, an AI built into the shell would do wonders to me.

I found bash-ai, but that seems to me like little more than a wrapper for ChatGPT queries.

In an ideal scenario, I'd like to employ a pre-trained, locally run AI that has access to all files, including config files and the list of installed packages, so it can, for example, tell me what specific lines in config files do or if a package I have already installed is good for a task I want to do or what the merge conflict between configs during an upgrade is about.

Is there such a built-in AI?

Just a heads-up for everyone in the EU, there currently is a petition going until the 17th to get the EU to ban conversion therapy. The petition still needs massive numbers of supporters, so it is likely to fail. Still, I wanted to share with you an easy method to support a more inclusive EU!

The full-scale images are still mostly broken on the default web client, producing only the default broken image placeholder. Is there any timeline to fix this issue?

Since the update, the local image mirror for federated images seems to be broken. The default web client however still tries to load the full-resolution images from the local mirror, leading to requests to the local mirror returning the default broken-image image. Please either fix the local mirror or have the web client load the federated images directly.

I wanted to ask if it was possible, in any way, to have the convenience of just having to sync a single passwords file, while also having the security of putting more sensitive login credentials behind a different or additional passwords?

On my computer, I usually have KeePassXC unlocked for the entirety of being logged in. So if my computer were to be compromised, the attacker would not only get access to relatively unimportant accounts, like this Lemmy account, but also highly important ones, like my email or bank login credentials. So I'd like to split my passwords file into multiple "files", where the unimportant logins are permanently unlocked for convenience, while the more sensitive login credentials remain encrypted until I actually need them.

However, I also am fucking lazy and I know that I won't be able to keep up with the hassle of keeping multiple passwords files synced. So I wanted to ask if it is possible to keep the convenience of having just a single file that you need to sync, while also making use of the security that splitting up the passwords file brings.

Currently I use KeePassXC on my desktop and KeePass2Android on my phone, but I'd be willing to switch to other software, if the benefits are there.

Or just reddit normies, I am as confused as to what they mean as they are.

A concerned hexbear gets bad tummy aches browsing our instance.

But their pig shit emoji spam is educational, of course!
