And they have done this before with Screen Mirroring. Great move by Apple to try to weaken Europe and rally its citizens against it just to potentially make a tiny sliver more money.

Yeah that also kinda disappointed me. Especially after seeing this thumbnail I expected something visually more exciting.

Yeah also noticing similar bullshit. People send me exact steps on what to do written by ChatGPT that understands exactly nothing about the context and is therefore often wrong or a half truth at best.

Another client has pushed a single commit to a messy project that added 70k lines and a load of new features. The project is now unmaintainable.

Was my first thought as well. Probably some poly market bullshit.

Ahh and I was wondering how the two statements connected. Now it makes sense

At least when the AI fucks up it'll admit it when you confront it.

Well not really, it‘ll admit whatever you nudge it towards. I‘ve had so many „you‘re absolutely right“ moments from the AI when the error was on my side.

It’s refreshing to see a more critical take on open source software. The ideals of it are admirable but many projects suffer from a lack of direction due to many slightly differently aligned contributors.

Or anyone really. No idea how so many people still use reddit after it enshittified this much.

In the fediverse, the messy interoperability really bothers me. Sure I can follow Pixelfed users on Mastodon but I can only see the first 4 pictures if they post multiple. I can also follow Mastodon users on Pixelfed but I will only see their posts containing images.

This cross follow functionality should simply not exist unless it’s good (like between lemmy, mbin and Piefed) as it will frustrate users and cause them to leave the platforms.

His death has been reported by Iranian state media

Yep I used that in university for generative art. It was a lot of fun and actually got me into coding unlike many failed attempts before that.

This does unfortunately happen multiple times per day. Sometimes it’s smaller incidents where the tram driver can get out and collapse the car’s mirror. Other times the owner of the car comes out of a nearby house after the tram used its bell extensively (like today) and moves the car. And then there are times when police needs to get involved to tow the car which often takes upwards of 1 hour.

The truly infuriating part is that if the tram damages a poorly parked car, the transportation company will have to pay the damages. Poorly parked vehicles never get fined and the owners will only need to pay if the car ends up getting towed.

Why do we accept that drivers sabotage a city’s public transport infrastructure like this?

I ran into a strange issue with my GameCube and I'm curious if anybody has seen anything similar before. The audio drops out every second or so. The weird thing is that it works perfectly fine on some boot cycles even after hours of gameplay and then pops up during other boot cycles right from the beginning.

It's pretty random but it always either happens right from the start or not at all. It occurs with games from disc and games from SD card. Maybe faulty capacitors? A wonky power supply (mine is an original)?
