So the headline is wrong and it's not actually a community-run database? 

The point is all of these sites, be it reddit or imbd or steamdb are only valuable because of the user content, and for some reason we've decided it's completely acceptable that the people that administrate the website can claim ownership of the data and sell it off to the highest bider.

That doesn't mean running a website isn't hard work, it is, but that we're making people rich on the basis of work other people did for free.

I'm not sure that it's *better*, but it's hilarious when you go off and do all the side quests and end up completely over powered by the time you get round to the main quest and just beat the shit out of the main bad guy without realizing that they're important.

I read that thinking, yeah it sounds dystopian but who has coins, and found out:

1. Most of them aren't coin operated.
2. It sounds like they're getting less common.

The UK requires intent to kill or greviously injure, which was also missing in this case.

This makes no sense. Why would a school's insurance policy cover kids outside of school (excluding the bus which might still be school jurisdiction)?

And if insurance doesn't cover them anyway, it shouldn't care what they do.

The UK has fewer knife attacks per person than the US.

It's just that there's so much gun violence, no one talks about it.

I would assume the token is only good for a few page accesses.

E.g. 500 would mean that a person would see this extremely rarely, and still block a bot from crashing the site.

I think it's just been easy to ignore how evil they are.

They've been tightly linked with Peter Thiel since they took over PayPal which has constantly stolen people's money. It's just harder for an auction house like eBay to be obviously evil.
