"Someone told me Obama did it, and I don't care to verify the information because it fits my worldview."

[Has] Humanity really survived at that point[?]

Yeah. And probably found a new way to live. Do you consider Humanity to be intrinsically tied to modern society?

I love to see it, and I genuinely hope you're right!

I'm sorry. I promise I'm a big picture optimist, if that helps! 😜

Just for clarification, I don't think it'll be fast. It will just be faster than without it.

Also, I think we'll hang on to a lot because the survivor base will likely be made up of people from all walks of life. STEM Professionals, teachers, carpenters, you name it. And as long as we learned our lesson about religion, we'll pass that knowledge on.

Mass extinction, not complete extinction.

It's not hubris. Humans are one of, if not the most adaptable species on the planet. Unless it gets so hot that the caves become uninhabitable, we'll squeak by.

I see it like this: If there is a way, we will find it. It's in our DNA.

This quote really stuck with me. It's where I see the silver lining:

"Blessed are those who plant trees under whose shade they will never sit."

It was a shower thought?

It just hit me in a sobering kinda way.

[–] Nay@feddit.nl -1 points 10 months ago (3 children)

That's where we disagree. I think there will be small inhabitable areas of the planet for centuries, at least. If not, there are caves. Humans are nothing if not -persistent.-

It just hit me in a sobering sorta way.

St. Carlin

100% . I love to see it!

Edit: We survived an ice age and we're very highly adaptable. Plus, we will hold on to some percentage of technical knowledge that will help us adapt faster.

Sorry if this doesn't belong here. Not sure where else to post it.

Hello everyone

~~And then he misrepresented what I said after banning me:~~

[removed screenshot]

I was the asshole.

If so, how?

Not fluid, non-binary, or agender. More like a superposition.

Binary, but also neither, and both.

I was AMAB, and presenting as female feels more natural to me, but I feel like a male and female in one body.

Discuss?

Oh come on, don't downvote me! I don't support this garbage. But we're living through a major historical event (not just the parade, but this whole thing).

If I can't be out protesting, I'm going to be observing this moment as much as I can. I'm watching protests, too!

Of the following, which of the two personality types do you generally align with?

When approaching a given situation or idea, do you typically focus on details first, or start with the bigger picture, filling in details second?

Edit for clarity: I'm not asking anyone to strictly identify with one or the other. It's a question of where on the spectrum between them you fall.

I am more of a big picture person and my partner is more of a details first person.
