I don’t live in a city. My commute is around 100 miles. I drive 500 miles one way about 16 times a year. I drive 2400 miles twice a year.

Why is a child filing for a work permit?

Local news says

Mbock came to the United States as a child from Cameroon in 2002. Court documents show he had a long-standing removal order, "which resulted from a grant of voluntary departure in 2005." It was eventually converted to a removal order. Despite the removal order, family and friends say Mbock completed his yearly check-ins and was able to renew his work permit without any problems from ICE for decades.

I guess with the push to enforce they no longer wanted to extend his renewals and he finally got removed. I wonder why the article didn’t include that detail?

“New reasearch”. We’ve lost so much knowledge. I think we as a whole are getting dumber.

I have a similar situation I’d like to get off my chest. We have a cat that started to come around regularly back in October. I assume it’s a she so I will go with that. We named her Alley. At the end of October I noticed she was limping and as the days went on it got worse. Soon it was really bad. Like not putting the front left paw down at all. I saw she had licked the hair off her paw trying to clean it. I grew concerned so I ordered some cheap collars off of Amazon that had capsules and paper in them to send a “message in a bottle” to anyone she interacted with. In the note I offered to take her to the Vet. A few days later with no response and we just took her. 3 visits later and she had antibiotics, a rabies shot, and a feline distemper shot. No chip found. As it got colder we allowed her inside. She’s litter box trained. The dog is cool with her, but our cat does not like her at all so they have to be separated. Fast forward to now and we’ve been trying to find her a home for a couple months. (She’s driving me insane waking me up at all hours of the night to go out or play) My wife found a rescue nonprofit that will take her as long as we pay for the initial vet care like additional vaccines, spay/neuter, and make a donation. We will have to foster her for a couple more weeks, but I am so relieved she’s leaving. I will not take in another stray.
