Yes, absolutely.

Why is this a question?

"Should people be allowed to keep their rights?" -- this is usually intended to spark discussion, but discussing from this pov helps those who want bad things more than those who dont.

Agreed, he definitely is. My goal is to dissipate the 'aura of authority' on him in peoples minds, and show him for what he is, with hopes that the magic will wear off.

Who is Hannity?

  • Housepainter.
  • He attended but did not graduate from:
      • Sacred Heart Seminary
      • St. Pius Seminary
      • New York University
      • Adelphi University
  • 1989 Volunteered as a DJ at KCSB, Santa Barbara, was fired, show dismissed.
  • 1990'ish - got another job at WVNN, Alabama
  • proceeded to talk on the radio ...

Why does this matter? - because it shows that Hannity doesn't matter. Any more than the 12 of us in this thread. - He is alive and has a mouth, are his accomplishments and skills, Yet his thoughts and opinions are played across the loudspeakers of the camp.

Jordan accused of participating in OSU sexual abuse cover-up by ex-wrestler

  • reported by Liz Roscher

Ohio congressman and former Ohio State assistant wrestling coach Jim Jordan has been accused of participating in the cover-up of widespread sexual abuse in OSU’s wrestling program.

Jordan was accused by Adam DiSabato, who was the team captain in the late 1980s and early 1990s. DiSabato was appearing in front of a hearing in the Ohio legislature as a witness for House Bill 249, which would waive the statute of limitations and allow the OSU athletes who had been abused to sue the university.

DiSabato told the House Civil Justice Committee that several team officials, including Jordan, were aware that the team’s open shower facilities put them at risk of being abused and harassed by a team doctor, but did nothing about it. Then DiSabato detailed a phone conversation between him and Jordan, in which Jordan asks DiSabato to help him cover up wrongdoing. DiSabato also said Jordan called him repeatedly in July 2018, after media outlets quoted his brother, Michael DiSabato, saying Strauss’ abuse was common knowledge to those surrounding the wrestling program, including Jordan. “Jim Jordan called me crying, groveling… begging me to go against my brother…That’s the kind of cover-up that’s going on there,” he said. “Are you guys going to do what you’re voted to do?” he told lawmakers later. “That’s the only reason I’m here.”

Jordan’s name has already come up in this scandal numerous times. When the news broke in April 2018 that Dr. Richard Strauss had been accused of sexually abusing over 150 OSU wrestlers between 1978 and 1998, Jordan denied knowing anything about it, despite being an assistant wrestling coach from 1987 to 1995 Jordan continued to deny having any knowledge of student sexual abuse even after independent investigators released a report in May 2019 that concluded that Strauss abused at least 177 male student athletes and patients. Strauss died by suicide in 2005.

by writing articles like this they spark the wrong discussion. extreme analogy, sorry to folks who don't do analogies: If there is a robber in a persons kitchen. Any discussion is a net negative for that homeowner. why? because the robbers presence alone is a violation of the sanctity of the home. Any and all solutions, start with the robber not being in the kitchen. Any and all discussion, adds _more time to the robber being in the kitchen All of which is a net loss for the homeowner, and potential gain for the robber.

These type's of horserace articles encourage a type of busywork discussions that waste time because they lead many of those readers away from thinking about the real / pertinent discussions to have.

It's possible to make things worse when attempting to solve a problem made by uncaring people. Making things better, temporarily, often gives them more time to continue to make things worse. Making things better this way also leads people at-large to believe they no longer need to take steps back away from disaster.

If you're new to Pine - the watch and phone are Open Hardware devices for people who are want to help build that future of open hardware. As a coder, I think this is a good thing. I have several but I wouldn't give one to a family member, just yet. Pine itself is about open hardware - but that process happens over a large time when smart people do good work. By comparison, Linux has been around 35 years.
