It was already metric from the start before any mathematical simplification was done, so the metric system was definitely practical here.

It's really good more people are talking about Lemmy on Reddit. It gives Lemmy more exposure and more and more users are making the switch from Reddit to Lemmy because of it! 🎉

We should all be making posts regularly on Reddit about how to easily switch to Lemmy. 💪

People are more ready now than ever before.

I haven't been a moderator for any community on Lemmy, so I don't know if this feature already exists or not, but I think it would be very useful for moderators to be able merge communities. Users from the old communities should be automatically subscribed to the newly merged one, while the old communities gets removed.

This requires some way for mods to send merge request to mods in other communities, and for those mods to accept that request if they want to.

Every unique post should of course remain unchanged in the new merged community, with all its votes and comments intact. Duplicate posts however should always get merged if they belong to the same user, meaning that now the merged post will likely have more comments and votes than any of the posts it was merged from.

There should also be an option for mods to move a community to a different server.

With this, we can make Lemmy much easier to navigate for it's users by merging multiple similar communities while also increasing the activity in those merged communities since they will now have more users.

Since Lemmy is still growing, a lot of the infrastructure isn't in place yet. This means communities will exist on servers available at the time of their creation rather than the more suitable server for that community that might show up in the future. Ability to migrate communities (and users) from one server to another is essential for Lemmy to stay decentralised.

This is a tricky thing to do. I'd say start with yourself. On your journey you will find what could be interesting to which family member. All of them doesn't have to migrate at the same time with the same product.

Small steps is always easier to take.

Det enda AI bilder gör är att de förstärker en fantasi som någon redan har med synintryck. Fantasin fanns redan innan AI bilderna, vilket givetvis är själva anledningen till varför AI bilderna genererats från första början.

Jag förstår verkligen inte varför man gör detta till ett problem. Vad spelar det för roll om någon använder AI till att göra nakenbilder på någon? Det verkar som om människor helt tappat förmågan att skilja på fantasi och verklighet.

Det är inte förbjudet att fantisera om hur någon man gillar ser ut naken. Att förstärka upplevelsen av sin fantasi med hjälp av något som ger sinnesintryck har människan alltid gjort, ofta i formen av en bild eller en skulptur. Att vi idag har möjlighet att använda AI för att förstärka våra fantasier med synintryckförändrar ingenting. Det handlar fortfarande enbart om folks fantasier. Jag är livrädd för ett samhälle där vi börjar förbjuda fantasin. Det är första steget i en riktning där man gör tankar olagliga.

Vi behöver låta folk göra vilka bilder de vill och sluta upp med den här förbannade moralpaniken.

Personligen tycker jag Reddit är fantastiskt! Jag tror dock många gillar att "blogga" om sina liv, och Facebook är ju rätt platform för det. Personligen avskyr jag att läsa sånt vardagsbloggande och vill hellre diskutera specifika ämnen, och Reddit är ju rätt plattform för det.

Personligen vill jag inte lämna Reddit för jag upplever det som dåligt. Jag vill lämna Reddit för det är centraliserat och amerikanskt.
