My previous stance on veganism was completely incorrect, and I didn't allow it to change for so long due to personal gripes with a few users on a niche internet forum.

I wish to apologize to any vegans or veganism supporters if any of my previous statements offended them or made them uncomfortable.

Looking back, many of my arguments were reactionary nonsense, and I had almost a nonsensical derangement syndrome about the whole thing. Getting into repeated fights with users even mentioning it, and generally being an asshole. I caused lots of unnecessary trouble with dear friends and comrades, who had to deal with the effects of my deeply unserious obsession with fighting specific users.

I let my personal feelings get in the way of a nuanced evaluation, which is very unmarxist of me. My issue with singular people turned into something that warped my common sense.

Although I recognize that I still have many brainworms about it, I want to remove them, and not let pettiness control my thoughts and actions.

A big part of me unlearning was reading through many of Angel's great posts, accidentally happening across some of the old threads (cringing extremely hard over them), and close friends calling me out leading to self evaluation.

I came to this opinion weeks ago, but only now I've publically renounced my previous position to my friends and hexbear.

I was debating the merits of incorporating some anarchist ideology, since my professor has been introducing some things to us.

Anarchism, different types, has its appeal.

but I keep running into multiple positions that i can't for the life of me understand. This one in particular. How do you have solidarity when you can't support states or hierarchies?

Also the existence of states, and what it takes to abolish them is of great interest to me. Because it seems to be as simple as uh, implementing direct democracy? Or some form of democratic functions in all society. So all institutions and borders can exist, but if you're democratic you're good? Do all situations really have to involve everyone?

so is literally a few elections and renaming institutions enough to replace the nation state? Seems incredibly easy then, i dont know what the fuss is about. (Although i think democratic armies are stupid why should that be a thing.)

Also my professor has an annoying tendency to hate on former socialism whenever its brought up. Also the sort of stereotypical obsession with rojava (which explicitly enshrines the right of private property, but otherwise i support the fight of the kurdish population for liberation) and the Zapitistas (who denounce western anarchism and explicitly identify as a sort of their own ideological deviation from marxism. Libertarian socialism in reality. Not hating on the Zapitistas of course, they're cool as fuck and i support their fight against discrimination of ethnic minorities and natives. Other anarchists have a liking of Makhnovshchina, which gets a lot of undeserved hate in marxist circles but was more a warlord state than anarchist. But i'd be fine with that because it was a rough time and they were doing what they had to, but explicit denial of this and upholding it is very strange to me.

But these are... states??? Why is it Marxist states that get flak?

wait its probably the purges... yeah i'd be mad about that too if it was me...

Anarchists i think get lots of undue hate towards them as well, with many criticisms brushing them aside being equally applicable to marxism.

Also i dont want to see any marxists give a joking or sectarian answer, or ill report them. Im interested in learning the responses of anarchists, and the best ones i can find are usually here. I can get kind of defensive, i dont like being wrong, but i do genuinely want to learn.

Eugene V Debs would be dissapointed in you lol

I just don't want people harmed by a government force. Fuck me, I guess?

tbh yeah, fuck you. i dont understand why your ideology should be given any regard at all. Its an ideology of barely any worth besides anthropological.

Soviet art and media was so far ahead of its time its insane. Lots of modern capitalists still depict Blacks with racist caricatures. Soviet cartoons in the 60s and before depicted the truth of imperialism and what oppressed peoples do in order to fight against it heroically.

Nina Andreyeva is a name all should know and be educated. She was at the front of the true communists agitating against perestroika and glasnost, and for the restoration of socialism in the USSR. This essay divided the Soviet Union when it was published, and heightened the communist resistance to the perestroika reforms as half the soviet union cried for socialism! This should be read by every Marxist Leninist as a source of hope and inspiration. The Soviet Union did not go down without a fight! They were fighting until the very end.

Advocate for Restalinization, a return to socialist economics, and a against opportunism and subversion. She is an inspiration to all for standing against revisionism and socialist deconstruction. The last Chairman of the CPSU(B), and die hard communist until she died in 2020. Nina Andreyeva, Grigory Romanov, Boris Pugo, Gennady Yannayev, and other true communists who fought for the preservation of soviet socialism should be honored for all time.

I want to learn more about the resistance to gorbachev and what sectors enabled the right's rise to power. betrayal from within the party is disastrous and learning from this is necessary to help make sure we dont repeat their mistakes.

Since insight into how the eastern bloc actually functioned and existed is quite rare even among communist circles, it is important we learn all we can about them. We should imitate its successes and solve its issues, not discard something so important.

Im doing an alternate history scenario with a friend and this is my map for 1980. I wanted some fresh eyes to look at this and give some history changes.

the only relavent alteration of history i have here is that I changed the result of the Ecuadorian elections which made it less dependent on the USA.

Finnish Bolshevik is always a treat!
