The cameras will track you anyways. You'll just get tagged as "2003 Honda civic, gray, license plates unreadable..." along with a descriptive list of any stickers on the back of the car.

I think it (I define conciousness here as the awareness and deliberate examination of one's own mental processes) is a natural next step after the theory of mind, and a great evolutionary advantage for a social animal like ourselves as it allows us to selfregulate our responses.

A good video that touches on the matter.

I like how the clancker threw in some umbillical cables for the suits too, like it's the 70's.

Sorry if I was unclear. What I meant to say that all of the above could be better realized in an anarchistic society, except maybe education, but that's debatable since at least the for-profit aspect of it would be eliminated.

The reality of democracy would be closer to the ideal in an anarchistic society. Same goes for fairness. Education could be debated, but I don't really see a reason why it couldn't work just as it does in any other system.

I think steampunk and most other aesthetic styles with -punk suffixes are better counterexamples, but cyberpunk is definitely punk. It depicts a dystopian future as a warning and rebels against it. The bad guys are always the tech megacorp inc. and so on. Then this core message went over peoples heads and you get all the aesthetic styles without actual punk in them. Solarpunk has a very strong social aspect to it (the punk and the anarchism) to differentiate it from greenwashing realestate development visualizations (building but with plants on it).

China definitely isn't solarpunk. The -punk suffix is included in the name for a reason. As Doc_Cranckenstein said, it's an anarchist philosophy.
