Not if you run it in two different processes. Then it's exactly the same as your new setup.

Ok, that's a valid reason. But you didn't touch on that in your post. You only talked about performance. Hence my wondering.

That's exactly my point?

That seems purely resource bound. So as long as your pc has enough cores and memory I feel like it should work fine, can't see what brings it down except excessive iops? . But I haven't had much experience with newer games like this, so I can't really dispute your experience.

First of all, congrats on your server!

But I was wondering, though I don't really know much about Icarus. But why wouldn't you just be able to run the server on the same machine? If it only takes two cores anyway, most modern systems should easily run that besides the game itself no?

Not saying this isn't a better solution, just doesn't seem necessary to create a server for just that. But now you get to enjoy the experience of how deep the self hosting rabbit hole goes. Have fun and good luck!

I think the main reason most companies choose closed source is because management gets a hard-on for the thought of having someone to complain to. If they can't call meetings with someone responsible and demand a quick fix, what use do they still have? All you can with open source is fix it yourself or create an issue. Neither requires a manager.

This reminds me so much of that time I got Red Alert from my parents. I was so happy, until I figured out it was the expansion Red Alert: The Aftermath. I had to wait so long before I got the base game I probably read the instruction manual and cover 10 times over. But that was enough to keep me happy till I got the original.

I expected the downvotes. Too many americans are so brainwashed to never criticize their troops and are blind to the propaganda they been fed every day since elementary school. Can we really blame them for actually believing it and not having a proper moral compass? I don't know, but the glorification of the military over there is absolutely disgusting.

Why search? They are a traitors to their country. If they were real protectors of their nation they would be flying that jet over the white house.

Don't have to convince me. I probably said something similar but it just doesn't connect. They probably just think there is only one kind of display. I never really pushed it further to be honest. .
