Well it stinks like Chinese propaganda. That much was blatantly obvious to me. It‘s just not always obvious what part they‘re lying about. So it was the part about it being Chinese in the first place. Not very creative I must say.

Few years? Nah man. Maybe the first few months but they were already laying the foundation 10 years ago by hosting the largest emote servers and running the Discord subreddit secretly themselves. They were always really shitty.

I mean the guy didn’t really make it. AI did. Or should I say the collective effort of many people’s work that the model was trained on did? I find there‘s something ironic about the content of the videos considering LLMs are the ultimate „fuck your consent“ tools. But I will say it‘s very effective.

It also takes a collective childhood memory and does something very edgy with it. That tickles our brains in a very funny way.

You know this is totally on brand for Valve if you ever had the displeasure trying to reach out to their support.

The company has fallen? From where? Discord was bottom of the barrel for as long as I can remember.

There were the white banner protests a few years ago. Technologies like mass surveillance and face recognition were used to track protesters down and quietly vanish them, though. Videos of the protests got shared on the western internet but it didn‘t really go viral. We didn‘t see videos of mass arrest or anything.

That‘s because the arrests were spread out through days and weeks in hundreds of different operations. The Chinese regime is aware how powerful these images would be. So they use their surveillance state to do the dirty work quietly. People still protest. Major things happen but we barely hear about them because the arrests and killings don‘t happen in the public anymore.

High-tech simply obscures their cruelty.

You‘re in luck because German bakeries house 3 thousand different kinds of bread.

Classic fluff piece to make China look more innovative than they actually are. I wouldn‘t be surprised if we never heard of this tech or if they recycle the same article next year. Tech ‚journalism‘ about China is a mine field of false claims and exaggerations.

Who needs Iran as their enemy when you have Israel as your „ally“.

Oh, I‘m less of a big guy and more of a big fan of your work.
