Ah yes, the old "if I can't impress girls with my skill I'll impress them with belittlement and open hostility instead"

This doesn't discount the rest of your points but in Australia Dutton lost by a landslide, and also lost his own seat, so he's out of parliament entirely.

We still have a lot of the racism and xenophobia issues fed by inequality and corporate interests, but Trump and his style is deeply unpopular here, which is partially why Dutton lost so badly.

75000/255000 < 30%

This is disproving your 58% claim above

Yep sorry. Your post is good, and your comment is good.

The other comments just shocked me and I have been reactionary. I should never have strayed into "All" probably.

I wouldn't describe the feeling I'm having as my morals. My morals are conscious and deliberate.

Maybe you need to be a parent to understand... It is a visceral, deep in the gut feeling of fury and repulsion and rage.

Oh god I almost don't want to say this in this environment...

Techy people aren't the most intelligent in other/all areas just because they have some technical expertise.

I have worked with, and interacted with people, all my life who are technically very intelligent in some specific way, and even been one of these people... Who thinks that one area of proficiency grants them unearned respect in other areas.

Eg." I'm great at maths therefore I'm logically infallible". Or "I'm an engineer, so I know exactly how society should function best"." I'm a doctor so my every opinion on everything is more important than yours".

Or you're super well off and also don't give a shift about everyone else

Did you know actual snake oil was used in traditional Chinese medicine for arthritis. Aparently it's quite high in Omega-3. But it got popular and then grifters started selling random concoctions and calling it snake oil and that's how it became synonymous with quackery.

Not really related to the point of your comment, I just read about it recently and thought it was interesting.
