My FIL just knew that the covid shots were going to kill my wife and I. The goalposts kept moving after we survived each alleged length of time without dying. Last one was "You'll die in 30 years because of the covid vaccine".
Wtf? I ride a motorcycle. And I'm in my 40's. I spend time in small aircraft sometimes. I'm 100% positive I'll die in the next 30 years from something.
Edit: My rambling inebriated comment reminded me that I've somehow managed to avoid covid completely. I've either never had it, or it was such a mild case that I didn't even notice. Thanks vaccines, I get to die in 30 years instead of a few years ago.
knife attacks
That's not how we do things in the US. :-(
My wife tells me that's what attracted her to me. She said I could hold a conversation and listen.
Which is also what attracted me to her. She could talk and had her own mind. "Treat each other like humans" seems like an easy ask but I apparently scooped up the best wife ever because nobody had done that before.
This is something I've wanted to do for a while, but like you... Money.
I have a Mirage G4. It has a five speed transmission. It does not have internet connectivity, it doesn't have a touchscreen, it doesn't have keyless ignition, it doesn't even have a fourth cylinder. It's as reliable as a hammer, it still gets me over 40 mpg, and it's paid for.
Dream vehicle? Any motorcycle. I have one, and I ride it sometimes, but I have a family that cares I'm alive and a lot of you seem to need a phone in your face to drive a car...
I have a feeling that there is or will be a water-borne version of a shahed drone. Something small and cheap and mobile vs big expensive high tech ships.
Right, they give up before they try.
Found out this morning that my supervisor can't afford to drive to work. He has a big truck and a long drive but... It's already happening.
Just as you say, the people who are doing the actual work aren't driving a Tesla to the machine shop/grocery store/concrete plant/wherever they work. And in most of the US, public transportation is a complete joke.
Yes another non-answer.
Interesting development this morning. My supervisor isn't here. He drives a big diesel truck ~40 miles/65 km to work. The truck allegedly gets 22 mpg. Diesel is $5 per gallon now. A little bit of math tells me it's about $20 just to drive to work and back each day, not counting any tolls.
I'm sure it's nothing.
