Holy shit, that sounds a lot like me! Silent rooms make my brain fuzzy!!! I will definitely talk to a professional!

Oh, ew. Fuck her.

I have autism, I probably have ADHD too.

Daydream? For sure.

Hyperactive? Probably not, I'm more inattentive

Social cues? Hmm, not exactly, working on it

Rude for reasons I don't understand? Hmm... yeah.

Expectations I have to be told? Oh, for sure.

So, on Reddit (not a good place, I know), the most upvoted comment to a post saying "You get a call from a woman and it makes you angry. Who is she?" was "Ellen 'Degenerate'". (Their words, not mine). Since it was hugely upvoted, why is she so bad? All I know is that she is a talk show host and a lesbian.

I've been questioning ADHD yet no one wants to diagnose it despite both my parents suspecting it because "I'm fine" and/or "probably just autistic". So, I highly struggle with remembering things. Kids have suspected short-term memory loss/short-term forgetfulness since I was about in fifth grade. I get distracted really easily with my work, and when I talk, it's just a stream of consciousness basically. I've always worked alone even when friends wanted to because when I do, I get really distracted with what they're saying and can't focus on my work.

I also tend to have work and writing all over the place rather than just writing it in one column or going in like a serial order.

When I drink coffee, which I heard happens with ADHDers, I can still sleep normally pretty much and get really sleepy, yet there are other times where I have tons of energy.

I also have something which can probably be explained by both, not only ideas bouncing around a mile a minute and very randomly/rapidly, but also my rejection sensitivity. I also had severe anger issues/meltdowns when I was younger and would throw chairs, struggle to empathize, and be extremely emotional, throwing myself onto the floor.

I am highly creative and will make up characters that seem real and make up parts of my life that seem real and I can't stop. Like if someone was bullying me, I used to turn it into a creative exercise and would think to myself of telling others that they did much worse and were "evil" because that was my reality and my story that seemed real. I get highly attached to my big imagination.

The main thing though is struggling to retain stuff, getting bored easily with my work in class and not paying attention, and also forgetting constantly why I walked into a room or what I was going to say.

Does this sound like your typical autism experience or does this sound like potential AuDHD? I will check in with a psychiatrist, so I'm not diagnosing or anything.

Thanks. They flat-out mean because I’m autistic, my brain looks at it different and I’m being too sensitive, I’ve asked

"You're not being bullied, it's the way your brain perceives it. Not everyone is bullying you." That's what my family used to say to me all the time whenever I told them I was being bullied. And it was true that they bullied me. The teachers yelled at me and found every possible way to punish me, the kids called me names, avoided me, and called me a disgusting creep, spread rumors about me, and very few students liked me.

I'd say, though not everyone bullied me, a great deal of them did and it wasn't just how my brain perceived it. That's bullying to anyone, autistic or not.

That’s good! Idk, i was a messed up kid

Basically there was a lot of crap I had to put up with in elementary school and middle school. Mainly in elementary, it was the teachers. I would constantly get referrals when I would get too stressed out and cry for "disruptive behavior". One time, I fell over and skinned my knee on the gym floor somehow and screamed. When a mean girl at my school tripped and fell and started BAWLING, they helped her, but the next day when the same happened to me, the gym teacher wrote my name on the board and said not to be like me and that I was overdramatic.

Later, I moved schools and moved back to the school I went to in kindergarten and first grade. The teacher was horrible, although last time I saw her in middle school, she was quite friendly to me. She would constantly scream in my ear, give me referrals, and get mad at me. She didn't believe me when I got bullied and would scream "YEAH RIGHT, KID! I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!" She tried to punish ME when I got harassed by a predator online by taking away my computer and giving me a referral, and would basically try to find every possible way to punish me because I acted different. She was a special education teacher too, but instead of help me, she yelled at me and punished me.

The school social worker in fourth grade also lied about me and said I did stuff I didn't do and said stuff I didn't say. The following social worker said the fact that I told another student I was bi (now I'm a lesbian) was making "sexual advances" when we were discussing LGBTQ topics in 6th grade and said when I got my Chromebook taken away, "Aww, are you upset cuz you didn't get what you wanted?" in a condescending tone.

In 8th grade, my friend group was only pretending to like me and bullied me behind my back, but I was always told I was never bullied and it was the way my autistic brain "perceived" it. They even called me a disgusting creep, sent threats, and blamed it on one of the members of the friend group's sister.

Understandable

So, I have Veteris, an app installer, on the iPad 1 that's jailbroken. So far, I got Alien Blue to partially work and I can't make comments but can read them and posts. I also got Tumblr to work. Is there anything else I can use on it that'll work that you've tried? Maybe old social medias? Maybe I can get something from the Fediverse to work on there? I mean, it's ~16 years old...

[–] BeckyStjerne@nord.pub 1 points 3 weeks ago

Oh right!!! Thank you :)

[–] BeckyStjerne@nord.pub 1 points 3 weeks ago

Oh, that's true! I have Veteris installed so I can download old apps and versions of existing apps

The battery is actually pretty good, to my surprise. It charges and everything, unlike my eBay iPod Touches 4 & 6.

[–] BeckyStjerne@nord.pub 7 points 3 weeks ago

It's very cool to get old things working

So I have the first generation of iPads from about 16 years ago. It's jailbroken and I'm wondering what I can use it for and what I can do on it and with it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Learning Spanish in school, USA. No, we learn "ustedes" for "y'all".

For those who didn't click the link, it's the scene where Squidward says "Too bad that didn't kill me". That's how I feel today, but I'm feeling a bit better :)

My mom is definitely center or left-of-center, and my sister is for sure a leftist, but besides that, not a one of my family members is leftist. They’re all right-wingers. I mean, some of my grandpa’s sisters, my aunts, are DEMOCRATS, but they’re very transphobic, which my Grandpa congratulates them for. My grandpa is hugely right-wing. My grandma is also right-wing, likely anti-immigration, but gets mad when Grandpa criticizes the left, so she might at least be more liberal than Grandpa but not a complete liberal/leftist. If liberal right-wingers exist, she could be that but IDK, I’m not very political.

Even my cousins are extremely right-wing. The boy is 13, constantly making fun of gay and trans people and bashing immigrants/Democrat politicians, whereas the girl (~18) isn’t really homophobic, and she certainly isn’t racist as she herself is black and has been discriminated against, but she is openly a conservative Republican as that’s what she believes. IDK her views on trans people, she probably finds them “goofy” though. She believes in capitalism like her mom, that hard work pays off, and that respect should be earned.

I saw something saying Norway is not for everyone because they only like immigrants from their country or something, whereas I've seen a post on Polish people too being very blunt, rude, (though not all of them are like that, obviously), and against immigration. I've seen several posts from Polish people on Reddit hating on immigrants, though I haven't seen it much with Norwegians, and the Norwegians I talk to on the Fediverse are always friendly

So my dad claims that he loves Europe because only white people live there, and it's just so wrong, there are plenty of other skin colors and backgrounds in Europe. Just take a look at this video I found about being black in Norway.

So, he always says stuff like “What about White History Month?” or “What about Men’s History Month? Men did plenty of great things, so I feel like I’m either overreacting, or he’s kinda discriminatory.

Not to mention, he hates the fact that he thinks Michelle Obama is trans and wants to know what’s in her pants every time she’s mentioned.
