I'm happy to work, in fact I'd probably see myself out if I couldn't keep myself occupied.
What I want is for the effort and care I put into my work to be reflected back on to me and my life, I have watched businesses make millions of dollars off my work alone and I have been paid minimum wage for that work.

I found I was pretty much running bonfire to bonfire because of it and didn't get that risk/reward for being able to explore areas of the map before resetting enemies.
I would recommend dual booting/switching to linux and running android via linux.
Memory is probably your biggest bottle neck here so setting up a bit of extra swap for Linux will be worthwhile until you can upgrade
