10 years!! aren't you woried about dried up thermal paste? I think Re-pasting CPU/GPU every 2~3 years or so is a good practice to prolong longevity.

I actually disable shader compilation in the settings, i dont notice a difference.

Maybe consider Spiral linux, it's just Debian with better defaults and backport repo probably without the bloat that comes with "Gaming" distros.

Have you considered a new gen? an 8th gen would offer better efficiency and performance and more feature like quick sync hardware decoding for most encoders out there. Srill, i'm impressed by the consumption difference.
