Around about 2013 Utorrent client had a group chat feature, I distinctly remember downloading a film near release and within the client fellow torrenters' where chatting, my then dyslexic ass cant recall the chat but given the date, most likely slurs.

YSK; utorrent is malware now. and it's stupid to run the extremely outdated version that is not.

BiglyBT (aka Vuze previously Azureus) has a decentralised chat feature akin to IRC. It's not very active but it's technically very interesting and still working. Rooms can be based on per-torrent, language, region, general purpose and even custom.
