Seems like everything is a pronoun these days. Anything can be a pronoun too. Could I even be one?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Mr. Rogers says you can do anything you want if you use your imagination.

[–] TommySoda@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Imagine being so scared of pronouns that you tear up a little kid's English homework. Like, can you really be that dense? What's next, Adjectives?!

[–] WaxedWookie@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Modern conservatism is mental illness - it's not a case of being dense - it's a case of being genuinely disabled.

Ironic for a political ideology grounded in and returning to eugenics.

[–] LustyArgonianMana@lemmy.world 0 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

This is a disgusting thing to type, especially considering how eugenics is used against the disabled

[–] WaxedWookie@lemmy.world 0 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You're getting downvoted because you're more disgusted by people talking about the problem than you are by the problem.

Denying eugenics would be disgusting,

Covering for those that support eugenics would be disgusting,

Being disgusted by someone pointing out the disgusting hypocrisy of eugenics and modern conservatism is disgusting.

Pointing out how monstrous and hypocritical modern conservatives and eugenicists are is a moral good.

I don't care if I get downvoted, I'm not here for that. I have been downvoted recently by neoliberals on this site for literally saying everyone should have the right to vote (and I quoted Lyndon B Johnson and the fucking constitution about this), so we can see how much a downvote is worth here. This isn't a site for leftists or progressives, or even people with a basic understanding of the Civil Rights Era, and I understand that. So ofc there is someone advocating for something Nazi adjacent here, like medicalizing an entire voting base. Medicalizing something that isn't a medical condition, especially acting as if their cognition is what is wrong, is something historically done to women in the US right before they got fucking lobotomized and put into conservatorship. It's a conviction and punishment with no trial. Fascism. Not to mention what the actual Nazis did to people they considered disabled.

It's not "pointing out" anything to medicalize them. It's an attempt to erode their rights by using laws that ALREADY abuse disabled people.

It's so funny how disabled people are the perfect weapon for pieces of shit who dont care about them. No one cares about helping the disabled unless it means they can weaponize them against another group they hate. Usually it's the homeless but ig today it's conservatives.

Well I know what my mom would do. She'd kick that bf in the nuts for getting mad at her kid like that, lol.

I am not being hyperbolic.

[–] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah, my mom would dropped that like it was hot. I was home schooled because we moved so much (poor, not military). When we got to the science module of the school books when I was ± 8 years old, she realized just how much fundamentalist bullshit was in them. She has spent basically everything on those books, and we never used them again. Went to the local library and got all the science books she could, and taught actual science to me. The books they had sent literally had drawings on humans wearing leopard skins foraging for berries while a dinosaur drank water in the background.

A broadly educated population is incompatible with, and toxic to, conservative ideologies.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I would suggest it's the conservative ideologies that are toxic, education is the antidote.

[–] Awesomo85@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I don't know, have you seen how they are teaching math these days?

This liberal agenda is getting out of hand!! /s

[–] Raxiel@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

They even use Arabic numerals! Shariah state!

[–] N0body@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

George does not like pronouns. George tries to keep George’s temper under George’s control when the (plural) people George interacts with use pronouns.

[–] EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

The plural form is clearly peopleses.

[–] beebarfbadger@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

That's a well radicalised obedient party soldier who will stop at nothing once you point at an inconvenient target and say the right buzzwords. Real Jan6 material, just as planned and executed for decades.

[–] OsrsNeedsF2P@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

On one hand, this is obviously fake

On the other hand, there's 7 billion people on the planet and the odds that one of them would do this is very high

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

The year was 1991.
My roommate decides to eat hot dogs.
We keep breads in the freezer so they last. Toaster is broken.
I tell this to my roommate before I go to the toilet.
I come out and I see a pot of boiling water with hot dogs and hot dog buns in it.
My roommate decided to boil bread to warm it up.

People can be far stupider than you could possibly ever imagine.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Holy shit, wait, what if we convince them that gender is a liberal hoax?

[–] grue@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

It doesn't work that way. These "people's" worldview is "heads I win, tails you lose." They will be selectively hyper-credulous to whatever bullshit they want to believe, while turning into hyper-skeptics about anything they don't want to believe.

You will never, ever win against them with a logical argument, not even reverse psychology, because the only rules they play by are the ones they make up second-by-second to make them victorious against you.

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Your flaw in logic and reasoning is applying logic and reasoning.

Dude doesn't even remember elementary school English lessons.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

No, we convince them that having sex is woke.

[–] jmcs@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 2 years ago

Gender is why we need all the different pronouns in the first place.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

This is how extremism works. If they get rid of knowledge they then control the knowledge and how it’s interpreted. Especially how people are educated.
