One of the streamers I watch has it as a gag alert and he likes to mess with his chat.

[–] cactusupyourbutt@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

not even kidding when I say this, I would stop watching that streamer

You mean the Skype ringtone?

Anyone who calls me on teams can send me an email like a civilized fucking human and I’ll respond when I’m good and ready.

Or a teams message.

But I’m not a savage answering a telephone like it’s 1965.

Honestly I sometimes hear it, and my laptop's not even on.

PSA: Never, NEVER, use your favourite song or sound as your ringtone or message sound, especially if your employer has your phone number. It destroyed "Bob Marley-Three Little Birds" and that "Metal Gear - you've been discovered" for me.

You can set your horn in Forza Horizon 5 and 6 to be this during multiplayer races, and you can honk it and see in real-time as you cause other racers' brains to instantly freak out.

Devious that they added it.

Try setting up an elderly parent with Teams.

Phone alarms too, especially when the character takes a long time to wake up to turn it off.

Also, sirens on songs when listening in the car.

Pavlovian priming at its finest. "Heckssake who's calling me at... eight PM, never mind, must be the TV then"

[–] myyass@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I like how they call it teams.

[–] NarrativeBear@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Subordinates

I've probably done something correctly in my life since I can't say I even know what that sounds like. I think I've done one video call ever when I was getting my permit for hot work. I don't remember what app I used for that.

Related: did you know that the Outlook calendar notification sound is based on one of the developer's kids singing "time to get up!" to them in the morning.

To be clear: I don't condone violence towards children, but if a kid did that to me it would trigger my fight-or-flight response.

I am the same way with the Slack “tick tick tick” notification in their commercials.

[–] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 2 weeks ago

Who still uses slack?
