Why can't states call for OSCE monitors? States are in charge of elections, not the Fed, and certainly not the Fed DOJ.
I suspect if they tried, the OSCE monitors wouldn't be allowed to enter the US.
Seems worth trying. Facists need pushback.
What boggles the mind is Trump's followers will not see the glaring hypocrisy here, assuming they hear about this at all.
A conservative is a fascist. That's why it is not possible for them to see anything wrong with fascist moves. Even never-Trumper conservatives will support this, because all conservatives are fascist by nature.
They are going to lose big even with their cheating, they are so far underwater here, they will lose the house, probably the senate.
Their approval rating is hovering around the ebola virus, right behind covid.
The problem is that there isn't way to enforce the vote anymore. Every institution and agency was allowed to be captured.
Todd Blanche, Tom Homan, and Kash Patel are not going to team up with SCOTUS and bring down Trump or MAGA. The military has been purged and is flying Nazi eagles and just gave the sieg heiling south African immigrant that stole all of our data keys to all of our top secret drone warfare platforms.
The other tech bros are part of this same program, and have been rolled into the military as their own unit, complete with their own ranks.
Once people have that level of clearance and information, the damage is done. The country we knew is dead and dark times are ahead. And it gets darker by the day with everyone playing "election"
“i WoNdEr iF hEs gONnA rIg tHE eLEcTiOn gUys 🤡🤡🤡”
Americans, watching Trump actively rig the election
MAGAs in my family are so far lost in the sauce that they truly believe he's the most fair and honest president in American history. They are so caught up in the right wing news machine that they don't know how the regime's policies are affecting the rest of America, and if they did, I don't think they'd care because they're old, rich, and have winning complexions.
“Refusing election observers is usually something that countries in a position of weakness do, when they know that they have corrupt or unfair elections,” said Dan Baer, a former U.S. ambassador to the OSCE during the Obama administration. “It’s very strange for the United States, which has been historically a standard setter in free and fair elections, to refuse observers.”
Strange? Has this doofus been around for the past 6 years?
What's being done to counter this?
Fuck all.
People are whining about it on the Internet! That counts just a bit more than thoughts and prayers.
Yep
Australian here ready to be full of myself.
Kamala Harris 100% won but Elon Musk rigged your election.
Follow me for more information everyone knows
Epstein was all in with Israel and knew everything they were doing.. Epstein died to protect Israeli secrets and the pedos
Oh dear.. I've criticised Israel.. I guess I'm about to commit suicide..
Fuck Israel, fuck Israel in every way.
“I used to wonder how it was possible that Trump could have won in 2016 and then again in 2024, given how emotionally toxic, morally vacant, and psychologically mangled he is. I do not wonder anymore. He won for that exact reason. He was not a candidate. He was a mirror. If you were a racist, you found your guy. If you were a misogynist, you found your guy. If money was your only religion, you found your guy. If your heart was armoured shut, you found your guy. If you mocked disabled people, you found your guy. If you hated intelligent people, you found your guy. If you were a rapist, you found your guy. If you enjoyed golden showers with Russian sex workers, you found your guy. If you had done absolutely nothing to confront your emotional wreckage, you found your guy. If you were a serial cheater, you found your guy. If you were a perpetual bankrupt, you found your guy. If you stiffed honest workers, you found your guy. If you were a conman, you found your guy. If you mocked people’s appearances, you found your guy. If you longed for a toxic Daddy, you found your guy. If you were dissociated and disembodied, you found your guy. If you were unconscionable in every economic dealing, you found your guy. If you lied as naturally as breathing, you found your guy. If you had never eaten a green vegetable, you found your guy. If you were a white supremacist, you found your guy. If your ego contained a hole so large not even the presidency could fill it, you found your guy. If you were a sociopath who cared not one molecule about other humans, you found your guy. If he had only two of these traits, he never would have won. He won because he had hundreds of them, and millions of people recognized themselves in at least one. This has never been about Trump. It has always been about the people who finally had their worst instincts validated. Trump did not create the cruelty, he licensed it. He handed out permission slips for hate. He is merely a symptom of a far deeper disease: collective toxicity. If there is one sentence that explains Trump’s power, it is this: “He says the things I’m thinking.” That is the part that should chill the spine. Who knew that tens of millions of Americans were thinking such unconscionable things about their fellow citizens? Who knew how many white men felt so threatened by women and challenged by minorities that they were ready to torch democracy to feel big again? Who knew that after decades of apparent progress on race and gender, so many people were living in seething resentment, waiting for a demagogue to legitimize their worst selves and convert their bitterness into political power? We were living in a fool’s paradise. We aren’t anymore." — Michael Jochum

Shock! Can't imagine why he'd do that.
Get ready for a very suspicious winning of the 2/3 of the seats, and immediate move to rewrite the constitution to an undemocratic one, with a very Orwellian definition of "separation of church and state" and "freedom of speech".
Conservatism is fascism. Always has been. These fascists need to be erased in a permanent way.
It is immoral to keep any relationship with a conservative. Disown them. Delete them.
Wonder why this might be… hmmm.
My feeling is that they are trying to increase their ability to (falsely) claim that the elections were stolen (again). I would think having outside observers would be something you'd want to get rid of so that it's easier to convince people of the lie/scam/coup.
Oh hey, who could've seen that one coming from President "Cheat like hell"?
“Raised concerns”
That’ll help. Well done.
2 decades? So they did it 2006?
After checking previous time was in 2002, under Bush.
Republicans also picked up eight seats in the House of Representatives, thereby making this election cycle one of three midterm elections in which the incumbent president's party did not experience a net loss of seats in either chamber of Congress, the other two being 1934 and 1998.
Interesting...
