/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

I love this community.

At least once a week I'll see a meme like this on here and download it to share with all my friends.

Then I realize literally nobody I know will get it, and I'm already here.

Hi friends!

The little forehead curl is what really takes the whole come hither look to the next level.

Just like Superman

Something my mom taught me, perhaps not fully applicable here, but I don't get to share it often:

There once was a girl

with a curl on her forehead

when she was good she was good

but when she was bad she was horrid

[–] IggyTheSmidge@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

My mum's version was:

There was a little girl,
Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
She was very very good,
But when she was bad, she was horrid!

I like it, but my mom died when I was young and I was her sole supporter (physically and emotionally) most of the time because my dad was a workaholic and my siblings had all left home (I was the youngest), so I have hangups about her and her stories and can't accept alternatives as better.

[–] Kojichan@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh wow. I learned that from Bugs Bunny.

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

My mom was a "professional storyteller" and so taught me lots of rhymes and limericks. Unfortunately, I've forgotten a lot of them. There was one about a crocodile; I absolutely loved it when she taught it to me and now you know everything I remember about it.

Does Data get internally warm enough for 5w30 to be effective?

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Was that nat 20 for Yar’s persuasion check?

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Data's investigation check.

It was a critical success (homebrew rules).

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yar is also a PC that rolled a nat 20 on a joke investigation check to see if the android was anatomically correct.

GM: "Oh yes. Data is also fully functional and programed in multiple techniques. A broad variety of pleasuring..."

Yar: "Oh! You jewel, that's exactly what I hoped!" I grab data and pull him into the room.

GM: Due to their intoxication, the crew is unbothered by the sounds of destruction coming from Lt. Yar's quarters. Data, you take four points of bludgeoning damage, two points of force damage and two points of piercing damage.

[–] Kojichan@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

When did Yar get into Klingon mating rituals?

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 weeks ago

Ah, you see, that question is a prime opportunity to introduce Yar's tragic backstory at the table for some high impact tone shift that explains why she opted to only let go with an emotionless android with no violence or hidden agendas.

Oh, is violet back?
