Doing the lord's work, Son.

Reddit used to have some bots that looked for AMP links and would post non-AMP links. That'd be kind of useful on the Threadiverse as well.

[–] AviAdi@lemmy.world 6 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Lol OK I fixed mine too. I was just lazy

[–] Cricket@lemmy.zip 3 points 17 hours ago

FYI, I still the AMP link on your "News article" link.

Roadrunner top speed running is about 25 mph, a coyote top speed running is about 40 mph.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 20 points 17 hours ago

Coyotes are only that fast while wearing rocket skates

Wow Coyote Vs Acme marketing are really upping their game

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 18 points 23 hours ago

The movie looks way darker than I expected.

There were weird 1 downvotes on a bunch of comments, and I can't help but think of the coyote, furious, crouching over a keyboard, "smashing that dislike button" 🤣

[–] AviAdi@lemmy.world 5 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe it's an angry roadrunner? 😂

You've missed a couple. Why'd you give up?

You can't convince me that isn't a cleverly painted dummy with a stick of dynamite in it.

The SOB finally did it!

I call AI because I watched TV in the 90s and learned that it is not possible for a coyote to catch a bird. It is a fact and I will die with that universal knowledge. Despite the other fact that one is a ferocious predator and the other one is a stupid bird.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 12 points 23 hours ago

I have lived in a place where there are roadrunners and coyotes.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 10 points 23 hours ago

Fake news. No rocket roller skates.

[–] rem26_art@fedia.io 3 points 21 hours ago

how many brick walls painted to look like a tunnel were built on the road near where this picture was taken?

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

There's no evidence of explosives used. Is this photo confirmed not AI?

[–] dustyData@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Honest talk. There's actually a mini crisis in birding and animal photography because of the use of AI. Images generated or altered with AI without disclosure are being published as facts in scientific journals and misleading research efforts on the health of animal populations which are vital to guide conservation efforts. Many biologists and scientists depend on the photographs of amateur or professional wildlife photographers. AI is inducing error and noise in the information they get to work with.

Just to add a little more context here, it's not just that people are using AI to make fake pictures, it's that AI tools in photography apps are making enough adjustments in the photo that one bird might get turned into a different bird by the enhancement tools.

It's especially problematic, because a bird that's native to a very small area in a less developed part of the world might not have many examples of it online.

One example: Someone might take a picture of a bird in the Amazon, and photoshop takes the picture and uses AI to clean it up, and the result is that it turns into a picture of a common north american bird. Which then becomes a "documented" case of a common north american bird being sighted in an uncommon location.

Making it even worse

the photographer might not even understand what happened. They might truly believe that they found this unique scenario.
