In civilized countries (like everywhere else than US) you get 3-5 week summer vacation by law.

Edit: 9 countries dont have mandatory vacation US and 8 island nations: https://www.axios.com/2026/07/02/vacation-world-us-paid-leave

I don't know, I kind of want the garbage pickup to happen every week...

Being able to buy some food could be beneficial too

Therefore everyone should have an entire season's worth of paid time off to take as much time for themselves as possible with no reduction in pay.

And where would you acquire a popsicle?

[–] davad@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Popsicles are shelf stable. You could make them in the fall, winter, and spring.

And how do you freeze them without electricity while all energy grid staff is on they summer leave?

Summer is too hot now, we'll have to move this to fall.

[–] minorkeys@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It could be, if we all fought for it.

Someone should provide food, electricity, water, healthcare, flight with fires, take out garbage , sell medication and so on.

At this stage of technology, infrastructure and society we are unable to indulge in such an utopia yet.

At what point do we make the seasons into a shift-like experience?

Oh, never mind. That'd require the cogs of capitalism pay individuals more so they could float through such a season.
