I was already reading about this becoming a problem at least ten years ago if not earlier. At this point it's like climate change. Once upon a time you thought, "oh, wow, that seems really bad, but now that we know that there's a serious problem and we can't go on like this forever, surely something will be done about it". And yet, here we are decades later and we have not only not stopped, we have accelerated our destructive behaviors. If this isn't indication that we do not have a rational economy or system of governance i don't know what is.
