I'm still sitting here wondering why this real pretty young Mediterranean looking man is being charged when the CCTV footage showed a big bulky anglo guy in his 40s as the shooter..

I made the same point on Reddit years ago and got downvoted hard.

They broadcast the OJ Trial, they should broadcast Luigi's trial.

The prosecution is scared shitless that the concept of Jury Nullification will become mainstream, and if the Cirizens realize they can just release anyone they want to, then MAGA won't be able to win their bullshit cases.

They should start using the surveillance arguments here. "If you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to hide."

I want to hear the Prosecutors arguments against that.

Put a flock camera in the courtroom

No no no! That applies to you! For me it is air gapping and ironclad encryption! For you it is literally a doxx in every boxx (whatever that means).

Appreciate this post but can we generally share links to articles instead of just screenshots.

This. 100% this.

If you saw someone murder a healthcare CEO, no you didn't.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 12 hours ago

How many lives did Luigi save in the weeks afterwards when the health insurance companies took notice?

You could argue that on balance, he was actually saving lives. Just like soldiers do in war. Just like police do in the street.

Just like soldiers do in war. Just like police do in the street.

Woah woah woah, use whatever justification you like, but you really shouldn't put criminals and murderers on the same level as actual heroes like Luigi Mangione.

We also don't know that it was Luigi. It was someone for sure, but Luigi could easily have been framed. Circumstances were a bit too perfect and the chain of custody of the evidence was all messed up IIRC

Not saying it was definitely someone else, but I reckon there's reasonable doubt.

Also the 11‑Minute Bodycam Gap.

"The “gap” refers to an approximately 11-minute period during Luigi Mangione’s December 2024 arrest in Altoona when Officer Christy Wasser’s body camera was turned off while police transported him and/or evidence from the McDonald’s to the police station."

https://www.crbcnews.com/articles/693cd8e8d9a90023d32e158f

11 minutes sounds like exactly how much time it would take to plant fake evidence.

But what if his heart just kinda did that. Like JFK's head.

Luigi and I were playing Mario Kart at the time.

I was with you until this part

I don't think they're boot licking, I just think they're showing this is an argument that boot lickers make about cops. They're saying you can make the same argument here for Luigi, showing that the back-the-blue types make that argument hypocritically.

[–] DudleyMason@lemmy.ml 23 points 1 day ago

Of course not. It's much harder to railroad an innocent person under public scrutiny.

His lawyers and he know exactly what kind of sham trial the prosecution is planning on behalf of their corporate oligarchs. Making it completely transparent is the only chance they have.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

OJ got this. And I bet Luigi won't try to publish a stupid book called, "If I Did It." Not that the judge will let him get anything that helps, probably.
