News and Discussions about Reddit

Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules

Rule 1- No brigading.

**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

Only 3 days, but eh. I don't care. I only go on there to read comments about certain topics that pique my interest (games I'm currently playing, other current news stories) and very seldom comment, unless it really gets under my skin.

I left a comment on a post about the recent ICE killings, saying that anyone and everyone should be "armed to the fucking teeth when going to their next ICE protest, because it's much harder to oppress someone when they're ready and willing to put the other person down like the rabid dog they are."

And I'd fucking say it again.

You have been flagged now. Ai will comb over your account a lot harder compared to other accounts. Because you are already flagged, reddits ai mods are going to try to construe anything you say as a potential call for violence.

For instance you could be quoting a movie or a song that might sound violent outside of context, and because you are flagged it's going to assume the violent intentions, while other accounts can say the same thing and not get banned.

I caught a seven day ban for saying that drunk drivers are lucky if they only end up killing one person (themselves). It was at that point I realized how pointless it was to even use Reddit since I mean it ๐Ÿคท

Maybe I should say I don't use the app, but would the distinction really matter?

Weirdly enough, it does. Your browser needs cookies to do a lot of the account tracking they want, the app can just report everything including more device specifications than your browser. Don't know if you've ever used an alt but once you get your first ban if they see you using another one on the app, they'll hit you again for ban evasion.

Based, though. Wear that ban with pride

I go through my phone's Google "app"

[โ€“] dil@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

Only way out of a perma ban is resetting your phone, you can restore from backup, idk how to get away with it on pc so I just never login there, never login to the phone browser either, at least in my case a google account alt logins automatically sometimes and gave me away last time. I havent bothered making an account in the last few months, all of social media just feels dead and borint right now.

Lucky. Plenty of people get permabans for that.
