A place I used to work at would have "surges" where people were required to stay at work for 14 hours a day every day including the weekend to catch up on the backlog.

Management itself admitted one month later that productivity had collapsed within one week and it was so bad that we were having less work done than with normal work hours.

Isnt it delayed 2 yrs already? Was that not to avoid crunch? If not, they were manipulating consumers and investors with intentionally false projections

It was delayed two years because the game is stuck in dev hell. It doesn't matter how fast you're going if you can't steer in the right direction.

That is just business these days. The idea is to get away with it long enough before jumping out of the burning wreckage with your golden parachute, so that you can do it all over again somewhere else.

Paid often mandatory overtime for pennies to meet software release targets so C-Level can get their millions of dollars quaterly and yearly bonuses. Welcome to capitalism.
