[–] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 57 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Texas and Florida are basically the most active sources of vomit and feces stains on the north American continent. This does not surprise me

[–] lostepisodesfoundagain@kbin.earth 17 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I ain't choose to live here bruh

[–] Einskjaldi@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

There's plenty of people that have lived there continually since before Texas existed.

[–] Truscape@lemmy.blahaj.zone -4 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Plenty of highways to get outta there, man.

[–] lostepisodesfoundagain@kbin.earth 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

true, and most blue states have HCOL-MHCOL too.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

yeah, only reason i can afford to live in this blue state is i can't afford to live here. multigenerational home and shit, looking into a cheap RV so i can move out, go work for the parks department or some shit.

[–] lostepisodesfoundagain@kbin.earth 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

as someone who had an RV, don't fucking do it. move to Kentucky or Tennessee, abysmally cheap rent.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

looking at a cheap insulated toy hauler so i can load up my trike and be a camp host. i have goals dude.

With Mexico now having universal healthcare, there's no better time to try.

[–] 123@programming.dev 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Pretty sure they are starting with older people and you would need to be a Mexican citizen to begin with (?).

florida is a swamp that will fall into the ocean eventually, and texas will cook to death from the desert+climate change, or when the feral pigs take over the state,.

You try so hard to never post any photos or locations online, and then shit like this happens...

corporations angry that hackers might steal the money the companies were planning to steal from consumers

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

The only IT departments I’ve seen who are more overworked and under qualified than government is health care and educational institutions.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

And this isn’t even on the IT department themselves. It’s the usual suspect: 3rd party vendor contracted to store data. But yes, the point still stands that they are overworked, underpaid, and sometimes underqualified.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

If they weren’t overworked and underpaid they wouldn’t need third parties for that stuff.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 2 weeks ago

companies seem to dont value IT alot, because it "costs them too much money"

[–] Thassodar@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

From the article it seems like this is mostly the hunting and wildlife department, not driver's licenses. It still sucks, but the headline is not technically correct because it is hunting and wildlife license owners.

*Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

Sounds like a great time for that age verification/face scanning/id scanning, right? Right?

Everything is bigger in texas, especially their nonstop stream of failures and bad choices.
