It’s illegal to talk about how easy it would be to kill Elon Musk. Don’t do it.

It’s cool, just blame your actions on Biden and MAGA will nod in agreement.

[–] kibblebits@quokk.au 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Andrew Jackson’s fault!!!

[–] backalleycoyote@lemmy.today 3 points 3 days ago

Well… actually…

[–] starelfsc2@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's always so strange to me to hear "flesh-eating fly (that causes extreme pain to every warm-blooded mammal) has resurfaced. This will make beef more expensive."

It's the same energy as "ah we just bombed Iran, now gas is more expensive."

[–] Bakkoda@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

It's the cue to raise prices.

[–] disorderly@lemmy.world 26 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Is this the bridge too far, or will his supporters power through and find a way to believe this?

[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world 26 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Take your pick:

  • "Not my problem. I live in {state}, not {state}"
  • "Less red meat a good thing. MAHA"
  • "We shouldn't have been paying to deworm Mexico in the first place"
[–] lectricleopard@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago (3 children)

The post already says theyre blaming it on Biden. I've heard magats say gas was $9/gal under Biden. These people has the memory of a gold fish, and just repeat whatever faux news says.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I’ve heard magats say gas was $9/gal under Biden.

LOLWUT. Was that a thing in any state at all? I could see some regions like Hawaii or Cali maybe?

[–] lectricleopard@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

They also said its cheaper now than it was under Biden, so im inclined to say this is just delusional rationalization.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I looked it up, and supposedly gas peaked at $5 under Biden, but I don't know when that was, and it must not have lasted very long. I know for a fact that it was a point of pride that I had never paid over $3.99 per gallon until Trump came along.

Besides, how does that Biden-blaming work? So if gas got to $9 under Biden, does that mean MAGAs are okay with it going to 8.99?

I assume they were pissed at Biden when it got over $3-4, right? So how come if it was bad when Biden did it, it's okay for Trump to do it? This idea of: "So what if inflation/ unemployment/ etc is way up, it was worse under Biden!" is a really illogical argument. You hated it under Biden enough that you just had to allow a proven traitor and pedophile back into the job, but now it's all okay? It seems like everything bad is okay, as long as it isn't as bad as Biden, but if it gets worse than Biden, it's still okay, because that's Biden's fault, too.

Haven't these people ever heard that two wrongs don't make a right?

[–] lectricleopard@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You've put way more thought i to this than they do. They are just delusional amd think things are great now and things are cheaper when they aren't.

[–] starelfsc2@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 days ago

If you put it in context of a sports team it makes way more sense. What he's trying to do is say "dude look at your favorite team's averages, they're terrible." No one's gonna listen to that and they'll just find any cope they can because it's their favorite team and the other team is really boring and lame so they can't be right.

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 1 points 3 days ago

There's no point In even talking to those people. We have to take away their power and ignore them. We no longer owe them civility

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Also:

"The DNC/Biden/Hillary Clinton/George Soros are funneling dArK mOnEy into flying planes full of screw worms and dumping them all over the US to make Trump look bad!!1"

[–] GoatTnder@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Isn't red meat a staple of MAHA though?

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It is until it's not and then it never was.

World War 2

The 1958 Ford Edsel

The Black Plague

Look I am not saying all of those are Joe Biden's fault, but think about it

I heard he didn't even serve in WW2. That damn commie!

[–] moncharleskey@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I was talking with someone yesterday that had a giant Trump sign in his yard well after the last election. Sign was taken down months ago and he was saying the he doesn't even want to vote anymore because he doesn't want to be responsible for who gets into office. That's not an insignificant change. I live in the south and I have only heard one person saying anything remotely positive about him out loud, and they had to state that it wasn't all good in the same sentence. Trump does not have the support he did when elected because these people sleep waling through life are waking up to at least a measure of reality.

THE MAN WASN’T EVEN IN OFFICE AT THE TIME OF THEIR EXISTENCE!

[–] Folstar@lemmus.org 5 points 3 days ago

I guess I'll just keep reposting this until journalism catches up: The screwworm coverage so far is terrible.

First off, everyone is acting like this is a problem for beef prices (end of list). No, this is a problem for any mammal living in the southern US. FFS, some of the cases already are dogs- how are people not putting this together?

Second, Biden did whiff on the screwworm response in Central America. They should have pulled a Gandalf as screwworms spread north, but instead were modern Democrats and assumed the situation would fix itself until it was really bad.

Third, the real blame lies with whoever was POTUS before Biden (I can’t recall) for ignoring that the Panama facility holding the Darien Gap needed updates, more funding. We’re talking tens of millions of dollars to fix in 2018 what will now be a billions and billions problem. Trump- oh right it was Trump. Yeah, then when Covid hit they lost the Gap. To come back in 2025 and cut funding to to the program, pull out of partnerships with nations dealing with screwworms, and re-open the border to animal disease vectors is insanity. Are we sure these people aren’t literal demons feeding on human misery?

[–] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 15 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Those maga folk in southern states do like to BBQ steaks. I wonder how they’ll spin this one to support trump while they swallow the extra cost without admitting they’re wrong?

[–] cowfodder@lemmy.zip 17 points 3 days ago

One minor quibble. Generally, you grill steaks. BBQ is a low and slow cooking method in a smoky environment to allow larger cuts of meat with lots of collagen time to get tender and delicious.

Nanny state can pry the wormy beef from my cold, dead hands.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Belle has done a good video stripping the Maga-narrative bare naked and exposing where the screworm lives in the sweaty folds of their pale flesh.

Why do you guys keep hanging out here just to read a daily article and move on.
